Hi guys, my second question would be..........

If my Hotlink mobile account still has RM20 credit, when i port over to UM, will the RM20 be used in Umobile ? or will it be burned ?

Just thought this is the more suitable topic to review my UM experience.
I've been trying out on UM's coverage 1st before porting to UM.
So far (more than half a month) its performance is ok.
On 1 good day, I got 3G connection which was sooo fast (once or twice).
I'm staying in the center of PJ, consider it as a big city. but the connection has been "unpredictable",about 50% of the time I can't get connected. (wonder y my phone's setting "use packet data" alwy turns off itself when the connection drops)
I get EDGE connection in Alor Setar, & along the highways back to PJ,which is good , so, sometimes, I'd think: how come the connection is better in small town than PJ (not even EDGE connection) . But then, in Alor Setar, when it get disconnected itself, I need to go "settings" to turn off my data & switch it on again to get the Edge connection.
However, just recently, especially the last 2 days, it's improved, mostly HSPDA, quite stable, hopefully it continues

Btw, I'm using androids apps to analyse the coverage & speed, i.e, Sensorly (compare the coverage between different telcos regionally), Open Signal. just sharing

My question is, does the connectivity has anythg to do with my phone's mobile network settings configuration?
I've trying various combination, setting Network operators to 2G, 3G, auto; Network mode from auto to GSM only, to WCDMA; turning on / off data roaming, etc.
some said setting it as Umobile 3G & WCDMA only to get the best of it, is it true?
Thx.

hi, im interested in using rm28 prepaid unlimited internet plan.. however i need to clarify some things first
1. u guys keep talking about 5sen charge when the connection disconnect and reconnect again. if that is the case there will be a lot of charges because the internet wont be always on because apps nowadays depends on push mechanism. ( for example whatsapp, gmail, gtalk)
2. how to avoid the 5sen charge? can we set up in android phone so that the internet is always on? i dont want to be charged everytime the connection disconnect and reconnect
*
mad.gif what?! 5 sen charge everytime you switch on and off the internet?? this is not fair lah.. For example, when your phone battery is low and u want to switch off the internet (data roaming services) and then you will get a 5 sen charge for doing that? whaat? rclxub.gif

anyone or any U28users please clarify this 5 sen charge thingy?

no, the prepaid package is different, only the price is same

30 days, 500MB, 30 sms and 100 mins (sms and mins are to all telcos)

or you can try MB15 under prepaid, get 500MB for 15 days but no freebies

5 sen off on if didn't subscribe any plan la bro... dulu during my "proof of concept", i didn't subscribe any plan...
just plain prepaid... so i've been charge 5sen/1mb when browsing...
ok la... browse m.facebook.com within 2-3 minutes baru around 700kb je... so deduct 5sen...
then after a hour, check email lak, around 100kb, deduct lagi 5 sen...

if subscribe u28, of course no 5 sen on off... coz u've unlimited data plan... use sampai muntah lorrr...
but don't exceed 500mb la coz lepas tu kena throttle 64kbps...
