If I am using the RM28 prepaid unlimited mobile internet package, do I still be able to get free calls to other u mobile numbers? or this free call is only limited on the normal u mobile prepaid only (ie, not including the RM28 unlimited mobile internet)? Thx =)

Any improvement in the 3G coverage in Alor Setar so far?

Just thought this is the more suitable topic to review my UM experience.
I've been trying out on UM's coverage 1st before porting to UM.
So far (more than half a month) its performance is ok.
On 1 good day, I got 3G connection which was sooo fast (once or twice).
I'm staying in the center of PJ, consider it as a big city. but the connection has been "unpredictable",about 50% of the time I can't get connected. (wonder y my phone's setting "use packet data" alwy turns off itself when the connection drops)
I get EDGE connection in Alor Setar, & along the highways back to PJ,which is good , so, sometimes, I'd think: how come the connection is better in small town than PJ (not even EDGE connection) . But then, in Alor Setar, when it get disconnected itself, I need to go "settings" to turn off my data & switch it on again to get the Edge connection.
However, just recently, especially the last 2 days, it's improved, mostly HSPDA, quite stable, hopefully it continues

Btw, I'm using androids apps to analyse the coverage & speed, i.e, Sensorly (compare the coverage between different telcos regionally), Open Signal. just sharing

My question is, does the connectivity has anythg to do with my phone's mobile network settings configuration?
I've trying various combination, setting Network operators to 2G, 3G, auto; Network mode from auto to GSM only, to WCDMA; turning on / off data roaming,etc.
some said setting it as Umobile 3G & WCDMA only to get the best of it, is it true?

hi. I'm currently using U-mobile prepaid, but now I wanna buy a smartphone with u-mobile (U28) postpaid (as a package,with 24-month contract)..
so, can I keep my old u-mobile prepare number but change it to postpaid, so that I can buy a smartphone with it?
Do I need to change to another postpaid sim card?
what's the procedure I shall do & what documents are needed?
(actually, it's not me who r buying, but helping another person to do so, but his state does not have a u-mobile center, so need to prepare the documents beforehand n do it in one shot in KL)

last month, the u-mobile signal in Alor Setar was close to zero. However, once I entered the highway, there was signal back, all the way back to KL & even in PERHENTIAN ISLAND, with good speed!
Anyone using it in Alor Setar? How is the signal there?

This is so sad, as I planned to buy galaxy note 10.1 with u-mobile plan... but considering the lack of signal in Alor Setar, I have to choose other telcos...have been very satisfied with u-mobile..aih...

any news regarding u-mobile partnership with other telcos eg Maxis , Celcom in northern region?
