If you're on an Acer then I don't think flashing BIOS would help. If you really want to overclock then get a clone PC instead of Acer, Dell, etc. |

Tried to OC my E8400 on my G31-Es2l using value rams ddr2800.
However, there is some problem during the process. I tried to make it 400fsb x 9 = 3.6 in bios. Save it and reboot. Mobo give a few beeps + reboot and end up reboot like normal (without OC). I didnt touch the voltage settings. It was auto by default. Didnt try Oc with easy tuner yet. Feels that ocing in Bios would be more stable and accurate. I did off the Energy saving options in Bios to be sure. This post has been edited by Vinci777: Jun 8 2009, 11:16 AM |

E7400 user reporting in.
If I use a stock cooler OC to 3.49Ghz (266 x 10.5) when I ran Prime95, my temperature can reach 90+ celcius! I bought a Coolermaster Hyper TX2 cooler, rat the test again and the temperature only reaches 62 celcius. But the idle temp for both stock and TX2 is quite the same. 42 celcius. |

QUOTE(hazairi @ Jun 9 2009, 08:25 PM) E7400 user reporting in. idle temp is almost same for most coolers.. because it is affected by your in-casing ambient temperature.. so better ventilation inside = better temp..
