it become darker not because of the cable, but because you changed from 1080i to 1080p. even if you used USD300 monster cable will still be same dark in 1080p.


dude, you are correct when saying all HDMI cable are not the same. the difference is noticeable when using 35 feet HDMI cable, some cable can't perform as what they were supposed at this length. but if your cable length is only 6 feet (2 meters), RM20 cable will be the same as USD300 cable.

read up the test that Gizmondo have done, they were using proper machine, the Tektronix DSA8200 Digital Serial Analyzer to test the signal, not using just eyes and feel. my eyes might lie, your eyes might lie, but a machine won't lie.

Why Cat6 cable run on 1Gbps and Cat5e can do the same? Price Cat5e is cheaper? But when you do check properly, it is because of the Mhz.. Both running on 1 Gbps but Cat6 is faster because it has the higher Mhz than Cat5e.. Same goes to Cat6a & Cat7.

I just just ppl judge by the value la. Like u pay RM200 more on cable but doesnt get RM200 worth perfomance. If u pay more, u usually get a better quality cable.
Example use by samsk is all wrong (i know wat u mean, but u use the wrong example). U should use example of a external HDD USB cable, did u guys know those cheap ass RM10+ USB cant power your ext. HDD alone? (ofcourse unless they are using 2 USB) If you buy more expensive USB cable it can power your ext. HDD with just 1 USB (I take it if your USB got power enough)

What I say is there is slight different, maybe not worth RM200, but sure there are some different there. Hell my friends even tell me using GTX250 is better than mine GTX470 or same performance. HE cant even tell the different shit.

No ones can show the different because if you digitally take screenshot it would be the same. It just matter how good they appear on your TV.

I think the cable expensive at the gold plated plug (dont confuse with cheap ass gold color plated plug)

Then we will just stop comparing the cable expensive cable and cheap skate cable..
If you believe me and want to get a great picture with the MC HDMI cable, go with it..

Why Cat6 cable run on 1Gbps and Cat5e can do the same? (Cat 5e can do 1 gig for 100 meters (328 feet) & Cat 6 can do 10 gig for 37 meters (120 feet).

explaination:- the CAT6 cable has more twists per inch and is "better" manufactured than the CAT5e. The "twist" effect of each pair in the cables will cause any interference presented/picked up on one cable to be cancelled out by the cable's partner which twists around the initial cable. The CAT6 cable “copper process” has been designed with fewer "impurities" that can pass signals better than impurities that reflect the signal.

Really? How come Mercedes and proton maintain on 100km/h but Mercedes distance are more further than Proton?

Cat6 had more twists is true but you forget thing that without the separator, you still get Cat5e performance. Cat6 have separator to separate 4 pair of cable and minimize the crosstalk.. Cat5e doesnt have the separator thats why crosstalk occurred and cause interference between the cable pair. And the Cat6 copper thickness more than Cat5e.

Wrong! Proton can get more further than Mercedes bcos Proton is more fuel efficient!

Cat5e or Cat6, you still can get the same speed of 1Gbps if both are in the same infra of same distance say 50M.
PC ===== 1Gb Switch with Cat5e
PC ===== 1GB Switch with Cat6

BOTH get the same speed of 1Gbps!! No difference!
Same with HDMI!

As long as the cable conform with the same HDMI standard/version, it will be the same! RM15 china brand or RM250 raksasa brand

so if ppl use the value of the cable to compare the improvement they got, arent worth it
but for some home theatre dude, everything must go to the max and money arent a problem, so for them are worth it.

bro, thats exactly why i put the Gizmondo link there, it shows that that different cables will have different speed. but as long as all cables can transmit around 40 megabits per second (1080p/60hz requirement) then whatever cables you use still will give exact picture because the signal in digital ie. 1 and 0 only.

your car example makes me easier to explain to you. Proton speed maybe can reach till 200KM/H while Mercedes can reach 300KM/H, but all that speed is useless as the highway only limit the speed at 110KM/H. heck, at that speed even Kancil also can manage it. now change it to this:

Proton = RM20 cable
Mercedes = Monster cable
Kancil = cheap a55 China cable
110KM/H = 1080p/60hz speed.

so you see, even a car with higher speed also no use for the extra speed coz 110KM/H is the maximum allowed speed. so in this example, your bluray player / PC will only output a 110KM/H signal, your tv will only receive 110KM/H signal. as long as any cable meet 110KM/H then it will perform exactly the same because the output and receiver limits the speed to that.

if the cables is not more than 2 meters, there will not be different in quality of the video output. it either work, or don't work. you can check this Gizmondo test when it doesn't work, the different it noticeable in naked eyes.
