It depends on what type of material they use.. Cheap pasar malam HDMI cable use 80% steel and 20% copper. Expensive one use 100% copper or more expensive are using gold. And their alignment and accuracy of the connector is 100% precisely, got to ask few electrical shop or hifi shop and they will show you whats the different. The transmitting rate is different, more bandwidth, more better signal quality being transmit..
this only applicable to analogue cables, which is commonly used as the interconnects for the speakers, because analogue signals are prone to losing the fidelity when transmitted through different type of materials, hence losing the original quality, also it's prone to interference, hence a good insulation coating is important to isolate the interference.
BUT for digital, it's transmit only 1s and 0s, which is same like transmitting data between the computers, either it's success transmit, or failed, if failed, just re-transfer, and the strings of 1s & 0s still remain the same after transfer, unlike analogue, which the curve will have some changes.
and those electrical shops tells you branded HDMI is better? they just want your money

Hifi shop also claimed such thing? avoid that shop also, it's a black shop, none of the Hifi shop i frequent dare to claim or show me branded expensive HDMI cable are better than the cheap one.
