Why would you need birth control pills (or emergency contraceptive pills, I think you got them mixed up) to go on a vacation with your bf? Use condom.Emergency contraceptive pills (ECP) - https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/176435 It's not the same as birth control pills. Use condoms. |

I do not recommend the morning after pill as constant birth control. If you really are wanting to go on birth control because you want to have sex with your boyfriend while on vacation, you need to have started taking the birth control pills at least 2 months prior and take them consistently. As munkeyflo has said, just use condoms at this point. Please read up on the first page of this thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1830575 This post has been edited by spunkberry: Jun 25 2014, 06:30 AM |

It's not something you can just take as and when you please. You are consuming hormones to regulate your body. The emergency pill is over the counter, but I don't recommend you use that.Do not take the pill just because you're going on vacation. The pill is supposed to be taken every day at the same time for a long time, otherwise you will do funky things to your body with the hormone fluctuations. You are supposed to check the condom for breakage after you've used it. This post has been edited by spunkberry: Jun 27 2014, 11:04 PM |

Hey. I'm from Klang. I'm visiting my boyfriend in Australia this coming October. I was wondering where I could get a depo-shot. Does every clinic have them? Also, do I just rock up to the clinic and say I'm here for consultation and ask for the shot? I heard it will take about 2 to 3 weeks for it to start working. I have 3 months so that's not an issue. Problem is, will it mess up my menstrual cycle during that month?

Any sort of birth control involves hormones that affect your menstrual cycle, so yes.All you really need to do is schedule a consult with your gyno. They usually advise you on the different forms of BC and you decide on what you want. Then they'll write you a prescription or give you the shot etc. As far as I know, the shot is relatively expensive, but don't take my word for it. |

QUOTE(leeyenshan @ Jul 15 2014, 11:45 PM) You don't? You're supposed to have annual visits either when you turn 18 or when you're sexually active, whichever comes first I am not in a position to recommend one. Perhaps munkeyflo would know. I am not in a position to recommend one. Perhaps munkeyflo would know. I've had pills for a few months and it worked great. Boyfriend and I are long distance so I didn't really give much thought about it. Anyway, are gyno visits exy? |

Gyno visits are a preventive measure and you only need one visit a year so it's best to make sure you're healthy.I've had pills for a few months and it worked great. Boyfriend and I are long distance so I didn't really give much thought about it. Anyway, are gyno visits exy? As for expense, that will depend on your insurance or whatever the system is in Malaysia. I pay nothing for mine, but I am not local. This post has been edited by spunkberry: Jul 16 2014, 12:06 AM |

I really don't recommend eating the ECP regularly. It hurts your uterus because it's hamrfully stimulating it with one extremely large dose of estrogen, causing it to shed the uterine lining prematurely. In fact, you're not supposed to eat it more than two times a month. The first time I took it I started feeling cramps an hour later.
Disclaimer: Ate ECP and now on BCP due to hormonal problems and not for birth control purposes so my experience may differ from other people. I have to eat 3 BCPs a day |

can add Natural Methods in? withdrawal and abstinence.
http://www.sexualityandu.ca/birth-control/...natural_methods I have been using this methods, and touch wood so far no accident yet. but got another worry... that I'm actually infertile *touch wood x999* by the way, an extraction from the link:- A woman who has a regular menstrual cycle will usually experience the following sequence of events: - 3 to 7 days of menstruation - several days where she does not feel or see mucus in her vagina or on her vulva - several days of a ‘wet’ or ‘slippery’ sensation at her vulva or in the vagina where she sees and/or feels mucus, which becomes progressively more slippery, stretchy, and clear as ovulation approaches - after ovulation her waking temperature rises, mucus disappears from the vulva, and the vulva and vagina feel “drier" the bold part... I somehow felt right after my 5 days of menses, I immediately got fluid, no dryness days... which am so confused. |
