Hey guys, I just got back from accessories shop... finally got my DRLs installed. Oh yeah baby smile.gif

Decided to choose Philips DRL-5... it's more expensive, but it's from a proven OEM (Philips) and it looks so damn nice. I tried out a few other made-in-China options... but after seeing the Philips one... gone lah. Fall in love oredi!

Got it installed @ my fav accessories shop in PG - Neuton. They're a bit more expensive than others, but their workmanship is pretty good.

They had to cut the black lower grille a bit... to fit the DRL-5 housing (just cut the vertical piece of plastic... saw it off a bit but it's not obvious). Then just tape the bottom of the DRL housing to the bottom grille. No need to drill holes etc.

All-in-all, took about 30 mins to install. Then test and it works. There are 2 options to run this DRL... can configure so it turns OFF when headlamps turn on, but I decided to have it ON all the time (looks nicer @ nite).

Total was around RM600 for the DRL + installation. If buy online & ship here, it's roughly same price.

So far, so good. Onto next big project - ICE  thumbup.gif

Also installed my boot lamp today.... 12-set hi-power LED. Since there's no existing wiring cable, accessories shop had to put in wiring... and pull cable to the junction box under the glovebox:

remove the side box where the boot lamp should be, and thread a wire inside...

Less than RM50 total.. for installation + wiring + the actual LED kit.  smile.gif

Nice one bro. Any luck for Mugen visor?
For the boot lamp, any shot taken with the led off...the pic too bright. Can't see how the led set look like in actual....

my NHC i got last year one also 2 keys are remote one.

I dun know why insight comes with one key remote one key is no remote just key only.

but ur owner bag does it come with the small note to state the instruction of how to disalarm using the cobra pin code?

I think so man. not possible to have two different design of keys? be it getting earlier or later. if ur car comes with the cobra pin code, i think one key is not remote one, so in the case of 1 key remote got prob u can use the 2nd key with key only to open the door and disalarm using the cobra pin code.

can check with u guys did u guy ever use the 1st key (with remote one) to manually open the driver door via the key hole? can it be opened? shocking.gif

thanks.

ic thanks for the clarification. today i went installed my cobra connex. i am happy because my cobra security pin (the one that comes original with the car) has been changed.

i actually enquire the honda sc installer whether the security cobra pin can be changed. he told IT CANNOT BE CHANGED. he said for new car the security pin cannot be changed, while cars like old city etc, it can be changed.

i was actually previously upset by the cobra security pin i got when i first collected my insight, the initial pin is security a stoopig PIN that equal to no PIN at all, super easy to remember, but it makes it useless.

then today while installing connex, the honda SC installer asked for my cobra pin to exchange with the cobra ppl, i think they actually swap some security module when they install the connex.

so in the end, i was given a new cobra security pin, haha the new pin, is also not hard to remember but at least much much better than my initial one. so still not too bad. take note that the new pin again also cannot choose one. it is a unique code that comes with the security component i think.

but i was advised by the honda SC installer guy that the cobra security pin is just to disalarm the car when u use the key to manually open the car, the main security still the immobizer in the car. so still ok. somemore my car now equipped with connex, considered very safe already.

but quite heart pain when seeing they dismental certain part of my car for the installation. sad.gif

I thought it has to be manually open at the rear there since you have trigger there, unlike conventional sedan.

oh ic. so the boot must manually open the rear boot since there is not handle besides the driver seat to do that. ok thanks a lot. it clears my doubt now. icon_rolleyes.gif

then may i know if someone attacks the car rear boot, will it trigger the alarm? because for example. NHC by default the boot if manually opened using key etc there is no alarm, which u need to ask the service centre ppl to trick it for u to enable it.

thanks.
