QUOTE(contreasjun27 @ Apr 12 2011, 08:48 AM) is CIMB easier to get? It used to be easy to get a CIMB Bank credit card but with the new credit card rules in force, this may not be the case anymore. Anyway, you mentioned that your monthly salary is RM2,000. Is bonus included ? Allowance ? Is the allowance fixed or what ?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 15 2011, 09:47 PM) Can I increase my CIMB DA CL even though less than a year? Got my card last year's July but my current salary has increased 50% compared to last year's... If yes, I believe I can just call in to request? Certain banks won't entertain any credit limit increase request if you've not been using the card for at least a year. Not exactly sure what CIMB policy is like on this. Anyway, no harm trying actually. All you need is to submit your latest salary slip along with the credit limit increase form.

QUOTE(hye @ Apr 19 2011, 11:26 PM) I don't dare lah ... always a lot of people over at this KFC. People behind you gonna get very mad for wasting their time. Their cc terminals I suspect are all if not mostly operational, they are too arrogant to let the customers use it and even their supervisors I suspect are in cahoots.
Still if there's a way I could lodge a complaint and be sure of action taken, I would have done so. LOL ! I've used credit card at the KFC near my house twice before and that was in 2009, if my memory serves me correctly. Anyway, they already removed the machines and no longer offer credit card as a form of payment anymore.

QUOTE(krazee350 @ Apr 21 2011, 01:49 AM) My MBB2 card been having inaccurate TPs. The CS told me they having problem with the system for TP but it happen twice already now. Anybody having the same problem too? I don't want to keep calling as I might get myself confused too. Thank you so much for pointing this out. I immediately checked my TP right after reading your post and found out that as much as 3,000 TP is missing from my account. I also just realized that i wasn't given any TP at all for those transactions recorded in my February statement This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Apr 21 2011, 03:17 AM

QUOTE(azam_halim @ Apr 23 2011, 12:37 AM) well, dont you think the banks should actually tell their customers..esp via mail (they do send out promo in the mail)...heck, i only know about this ruling via this forum only (i dont really watch the news) I believe they will ... soon. Alternatively, you can write to them and tell them just informative this board is. And please tell them to hire me and Gen-X. We can work from home and be their online support staff. You know ? Like CIMB_Assists in Twitter or Maybankard Facebook Page in Facebook ?

QUOTE(turion64 @ Apr 26 2011, 12:23 PM) anyone know how to apply CIMB card besides fax or walk in ? called their CS and told me no online application available. sounds like BS to me. anyone successfully applied online before able to assist me ? Besides fax or walk-in, you can mail in your application to their credit card centre yourself too. And as far as i know, you can't apply for a CIMB credit card online.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Apr 28 2011, 07:11 AM) Well Citibank Platinum now offer 5X reward points at Isetan, Jusco, Marks&Spencer, Metrojaya, Parkson, Robinsons, Tangs, Carrefour, Cold Storage, Everise, Giant, Servay and Tesco. The PremierMiles don't get this benefit. BUT, it is subjected to maximum spending of RM3000 per month. Still better than HSBC RM1K per month. They have been offering 5x Rewards Points at the mentioned places since last year (except Servay and Everise which were added to the list just this year).

QUOTE(MNet @ Apr 29 2011, 11:39 PM) If I take my PB gold card that i have 30k limit can apply?
PB gold card i get by put in fd 30k. You can't apply for a credit card using your existing credit card that is more than one year which you got under collateral, certainly not for HSBC credit card anyway. QUOTE(cenkudu @ Apr 30 2011, 11:55 AM) from this list of cards which one is better to purchase online flight ticket (cathay pacific)
-Citibank cashback platinum -Maybank visa 2 platinum -Amex 2 platinum -SCB Business platinum -PB Platinum -EON Matta platinum Not exactly related to the above post but HSBC credit card is the best to use to buy Business Class ticket on Cathay Pacific and Dragonair. It's not a year-round offer but this promotion is available at least once a year and the campaign usually runs for 6 months every year.

QUOTE(rockefeller @ May 1 2011, 04:05 PM) this is no longer the case. HENCE, me asking the question again in case anyone has a more up to date info. The informations posted in the first page are regularly reviewed and are up to date. Whenever there's a change, someone will definitely post the latest information here. So no worries there. u mean less than 1 year? Whether it's a card less than 1 year or more, it's the same. You can't apply for another credit card using it because you got it under collateral and other banks will know it is a secured card by fixed deposit as it will be shown in your CCRIS.

QUOTE(timetravelller @ May 3 2011, 08:05 PM) alliance gave 1pt per ringgit, and cashback capping at 10 bucks. not sincere man.
Added on May 3, 2011, 8:08 pm
don't think so le, hlb essential 1% unlimited is better than ocbc titanium that cap at 50 bucks.
Added on May 3, 2011, 8:11 pmmy situation is like this, sometimes i need to pay for dining which is claimable from co. so definitely more than 5k. so ocbc capping at 50bucks is not a good choice at this senario. so i rather aim for cc that offer 5x pts, or at least 3pts per ringgit spent on visa/mastercard.
Anymore suggestion?Get both OCBC Titanium MasterCard and Hong Leong Bank Essential VISA then. Once you've maxed out your rebate for the month, just switch to Hong Leong Bank Essential VISA. Everyone here is doing the same.
