STPM student here. Is English a popular course in UM and is it easy to get in? I'm not talking about TESL. I wish to study English Lit and they have a programme there (BA in English).

Hey there I know this thread is cold but I'm hoping to get some answers.
I've applied for Masters in Applied Statistics for Feb 2021 intake. My question is, must I take the full 5 days a week route and die-die finish within a year, or, is it possible to do less days (maybe 3 days a week), and finish in 1.5 years instead? Thank you in advance, to whoever can answer. |

QUOTE(Lysentrix @ Oct 4 2020, 09:58 PM) Hey there I know this thread is cold but I'm hoping to get some answers. It depends on the programme structure, i.e. whether the necessary courses are offered every semester. Meaning to say, if you need to complete Course 1 to Course 10, however, Course 1 is not offered in every semester, and in case you've missed it in Semester 2 (Feb intake), you might need to wait for another year for it to be offered again.I've applied for Masters in Applied Statistics for Feb 2021 intake. Thank you in advance, to whoever can answer. Another thing to note is that when would you be allowed to begin the research component. Is it available every semester? The best thing to do is to get specific information from the programme coordinator/administrator who knows the programme from inside out. |

Hey guys, I'm currently considering to further my studies (Master of Econs) a few years after graduating from degree in Finance, mainly to satisfy my own interest in economics, politics, public policies, etc. and also to pave the way if I decided to go deep into Economics research (PhD) some day. However, due to money constrains, I will only be able to commit myself to a part-time program. Just called UM this morning and have confirmed that their classes are conducted at 6PM for weekdays so it seems viable to be completed on a part-time basis. Reason for posting here is that I hope to get a bit more pointers/information on UM as well as the course itself, e.g. course quality, uni's responsiveness, flexibility of the class hours & attendance, etc. Also, I've found out that the classes are conducted online for now, but since the coming intake only starts next year it's hard to tell if the COVID cases will go down by then (hence, resuming to physical classes). My working hours is until 5.45PM, so I doubt I can ever show up on time if indeed the classes start at 6PM. Any alumni or current students can confirm if the conductor/uni will be strict in this matter? Thank you Oklahoma liked this post

QUOTE(MotherOfGandalf @ Oct 8 2020, 02:40 PM) Hey guys, I was taking evening classes at the same faculty. Since most of the master students are working students, there are many students that will come later than 6pm. The lecturers won't penalized you. During mid-term test day, usually they starts the exam at 6.30pm or later.I'm currently considering to further my studies (Master of Econs) a few years after graduating from degree in Finance, mainly to satisfy my own interest in economics, politics, public policies, etc. and also to pave the way if I decided to go deep into Economics research (PhD) some day. Btw, would you be familiar with the normal number of units to take for part-timers? Coz there are like 10 units and I'm trying to estimate how long of an investment will this be Thank you |

But the research project can be done in 2 semester. So around 2 years total investment Thank you MotherOfGandalf liked this post

Hey guys, I applied for the coming February intake for Masters in UM.
May I know usually when does the faculty reply with an offer letter? Classes are slated to begin in early March, so latest also in February they must let us know the outcome of application, right? |
