David ... wow, amazing. I don't go to the Garage Sales section (since I'm overseas so don't have a need yet) but if I do and I see any loon trying to hawk iPhone with pirated materials, I'll report them to you.

The apps are 3 ringgit, 3 ringgit (80% of them anyway), that's like 1/2 hour parking in KLCC. Come on people.

is thei phone 4 having bad signal? coz i'm using digi full bar signal... everytime call ppl talk halfway sure dc...what is wrong?
*
Is your iPhone "naked" (no case)? There is a flaw in the iPhone 4 antenna design, the gap/line that you see at the bottom left hand corner is where the antenna connection is and it's exposed. If you put your hand over it, the signal bar will be affected and your call will be dropped. So either hold the phone a bit differently than you used to or get a case for the iPhone 4.

any1 faced this problem before? after jb-ing, about a week later, I cannot connect to wifi, when i turn the wifi on, there's the wifi symbol and all, it's just that I cannot connect to the internet, just to clear any doubts, i can use the internet as usual on my laptop, connected to the same router/connection.

running on an ipod 4th gen btw.
*
Are you using a Wireless N router? I have found that (even without Jailbreaking) that Apple products are extremely finicky with Wireless N routers. I had a Belkin Wireless N and ALL my Apple products (MacBook Pro, iPad 2, iPhone 4) will exhibit the same problem that you have. I will have to switch off, switch on the wifi of my iDevices before I can get internet connection again.

This problem is apparently widespread and the MacForums have tons of thread about this issue.

I decided to get a Wireless G router to replace the N router and the problem has not appeared ever since.

there is a new tools to backup your SHSH available now.

iFaith, allow you to backup your SHSH that no longer sign and wasn't previously saved.

Check it out here:
http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-save-shsh...faith-tutorial/

For those still on old iOS and wanted to backup your SHSH now, you can do it now that cant be done on tinyumbrella.

How is iFaith doing it? SHSH is only given out by Apple. TU and Cydia gets the SHSH from Apple (during the time Apple is signing them) so how is it possible that the SHSH system is being bypassed by iFaith?

If it is possible, it's an interesting concept.

Here's something to think about regarding iFaith

Is there any connection between iFaith and Cydia, if it is and you're already jailbroken at 4.2.1, then iFaith may have gotten the SHSH from Cydia. So if it does has a connection to Cydia, it's acting just like TU.

Googling iFaith, it seems like a legit application so it doesn't hurt to try it. I have an iPhone 4 that I bought post 4.1 (meaning it never had 4.1 before) so let me try and see if I can get a 4.1 SHSH using iFaith. If I can, then we know iFaith is legit

As for restoring, once you saved the SHSH locally via iFaith, then you use TSS Server of Tiny Umbrella to to the downgrade.

care to explain more and share link? bcoz i never use redsnow b4 (only greenpoison, limerain & snowbreeze).. thx
*
The problem you had with your colleagues iPhone was because he did not have the 4.3.1 SHSH saved. You cannot restore (either via sn0wbreeze or pwnagetool) an iDevice if you did not have SHSH saved.

Since you're now on 4.3.3, the go to http://iclarified.com and follow the tutorial on how to jailbreak 4.3.3 using redsn0w. The step by step guide should be good enough.

redsn0w is one of the easiest (other than doing the pwned DFU mode) way to jailbreak an iPhone. Once you tried redsn0w, you really don't want to jailbreak it any other way.

I think in Redsn0w itself already built-in step-by-step instruction how to jailbreak using their Redsn0w.

Yes redsn0w is quite user friendly. The tutorial in iClarified will have links to download redsn0w and also links to download the required iOS firmware.

I have never had any issues (like you need to use a certain version of iTunes) with my jailbroken iPhone. In most cases, the jailbreak requires you to have the latest iTunes.

coz the guy quite pro...he repairs a lot of phone and is a trustable repairman smile.gif

anyways, i did a full restore, he could tell i jailbroken my phone >.<
he opened my phone..that's it~
*
As I said previously, if you do a Shift + Restore, the method will wipe clean your iPhone. So that pro repairman of yours will not know whether it was previously jailbroken unless you gave him a hint or tell him straight that it was jailbroken before.

There's no such thing as him knowing it was jailbroken by opening the iPhone. There will be no physical evidence.

currently my ip4 is jailbroken ios 4.3.2, my cydia got problem, cannot install anything...
i want to upgrade 4.3.3 and re-jailbreak again using redsnow..
but the problem is my home button is not working...
how can i go to dfu mode if my home button not working?  doh.gif
*
Restore your iPhone to 4.3.3 using stock firmware (Shift + restore, point your iPhone to downloaded firmware)

Send to Maxis/Digi/Celcom service center for warranty claim

Get new/refurb iphone

Jailbreak using redsn0w using the DFU mode (since your home button is now working).

This is assuming, yours is a Maxis/Digi/Celcom set.

MuscleNerd jailbroke the iOS 5 after it was launched yesterday using the Limerain exploit BUT, it's a tethered version.

1on1c also tweeted that his untethered exploit may have been discovered by Apple and have been closed so it looks like it will take some time before an untethered jailbreak is out.

Update: MuscleNerd tweeted to 1on1c that he should re-check ... so there could be hope.

Be aware that just because it's able to be jailbroken does NOT mean Cydia will load or Mobilesubstrate is updated or any of your favorite jailbroken apps will work. Jailbreaking a beta is good for REAL devs that need to update their apps for 5.0 compatibility. There will not be an official jailbreak from the dev team until a public release of 5.0 comes out from Apple and Saurik won't push a mobile substrate update until after that happens.

MuscleNerd has successfully loaded Cydia bu I suspect A LOT of Cydia apps (BiteSMS, SBSettings etc etc) may not be compatible. So handle with care.

So what app did you use to jailbreak and install cydia on ios 5?

Google and ye shall find it. Most likely it's using redsn0w as MuscleNerd mentioned something about utilising the Limera1n exploit.

My understanding on Gevey Sim is that it's firmware dependent and not baseband dependent. So I would suggest that you should ask around if anyone has managed to get Gevey to work with 4.3.3

I wouldnt be here if google answered me.
Musclenerd said he used a limerain + bootrom exploit. honestly the only thing i can figure from that is use limera1n. and then ?
*
limera1n + bootrom exploit = redsn0w

If you really want to do it, just download the iOS5 Beta 1 and then follow the same steps as Jailbreaking 4.3.3 and you should have a tethered iOS5 Jailbreak.

Are you on 4.3.3 or 4.3.2?

Try restoring to 4.3.3

Is your iPhone a factory unlock version?

im on JB ios 4.3.2 with redsnow
im trying to restore back to 4.3.2 but it keep on ask me to connect itunes.
then error occur like 3194 and 1013
i get it from maxis centre
*
I can explain the errors but it's just a hassle (there are 2 possibilities, either you did not save your SHSH for 4.3.2 or if you do save your SHSH, the TU connection to Cydia is not working that well, or you're not on the latest TU ... or ... you get my drift.)

Since you're on factory unlocked iPhone ... do these steps

1. Download 4.3.3 firmware (go to iClarified and you should be able to find the link in one of the iPhone 4 Jailbreak tutorial
2. restore your iPhone using 4.3.3 (Use Shift + Restore)
3. Run redsn0w.

Problem solved.

Ohh make sure when you're doing this, your hosts file is clean (remove the gs.apple.com line in the host file.)

Bro try do this..
1. Update the latest itunes
2. Download ios 4.3.2
3. Connect ur iphone and restore by holding "shift + click restore"
4. Jb using resnow
*
This instruction will not work. 100% will not work.

Apple no longer signs 4.3.2 firmware so if you STILL want to have 4.3.2, you will need to bypass Apple signing server

This is the things you need

1. 4.3.2 SHSH (if you don't have this ... STOP and forget about restoring to 4.3.2) --> Try iFaith and see if you can get the SHSH. If you still cannot get ... STOP, Restore to 4.3.3

2. Point your host file to Saurik's Cydia server ....

3. TU running on TSS pointing to a locally saved 4.3.2 SHSH

Not that simple isn't it to restore to 4.3.2, and since 4.3.3 is am untethered JB, there is no reason NOT to update to 4.3.3 unless you're using Gevey Sim and the Gevey is not compatible with 4.3.3

Download the 4.3.3 firmware here

http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-1011...J2_Restore.ipsw

Save the IPSW file in your desktop or wherever you feel like saving it

Once the firmware have been downloaded, open iTunes and connect your iPhone

Backup your iPhone (right hand click on the iPhone icon and choose backup)

Press Shift key on your keyboard and without releasing the key, click on "Restore"

Navigate to the location of the IPSW file that you have downloaded.

Here is my problems in this 10hours... update to 4.3.3 via iTunes> error 1015 and bricks at recovery mode> after fixrecovery43> only emergency call> after jb with redsn0w/sn0wbreeze > no service no network

p.s thanks for quick reply..
*
You have no network because you have not installed ultrasn0w after doing your jailbreak. Go to Cydia and add the ultrasnow repo if it's not there. If it is already there, you just need to install ultrasn0w.

You are on 6.15 BB. You need ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone.
