5hours and still underexposed?? ohmy.gif i wonder wat setting and equipment u used.
I tried for about 2 hours..with ISO100 slide film and it turn up to be ok..not underexposed. maybe little bit overexposed.. biggrin.gif
I forgot what aperture I used. And that's one of the problem with film where digital already recorded all the detail in every JPEGs. I think around f16 with Kodak profesional PJA-100. It was a slight underexposed, so noise is visible.

I have a feeling that normal film like Fuji 100 that time might have different and stronger exposure despice same 5 hours and same aperture. It was really taking up lots of time to know the limits and character of each films... cry.gif

Can't wait to get my first digital version of star trail. biggrin.gif

From some the pictures I saw over at PM, I think maybe best to camp overnight there rather than try to climb up in the evening....

But is it far enough from all the light pollution in Klang Valley?
*
great idea, it would be first(?) camping from lowyat-kakis ...

hood can prevent light from entering the lens..but cant solve the
sky's light pollution problem. we have to go somewhere with clear view..

easy to go. biggrin.gif

deepyu, have you contacted the local dealer of Meade telescope? If you want to buy something from him, you have to act fast as he is going to Chile ( the best place for celestial observing in this planet! )and he will be leaving in September 18 and back in October 15.

Wahaha, here are the pics that let will let you guys drooling! drool.gif

This gas cloud is made of "man hand", I increase the exposure compensatation and brightness of the pic, then it become this. Shall we call it "fake" gas clouds?

If the background of that "gas cloud" is black, it will be wonderful... Got way to check whether they are satelites?

astronomy navigation software. if i'm not mistaken
they also includes some satelite's infos..maybe except the
confidential one.. biggrin.gif

Anyone got nice full moon pics? Saturday night was hazy, but managed to see the moon for about 30 minutes. Glorious. Now can watch the moon in the morning sky already, no need to sleep late.
I must buy a digicam soon - all these opportunities going to waste...........
Any suggestions, guys? To be used for digiscoping, not prime focus astrophotography.
Right now my choice is between Casio EX S500 or Ricoh Caplio GX8.

Can the Nikon 8700 do digiscoping well? The Nikon 990 (i think) was perfect at this, but it's hard to find one in good condition nowadays.

Any other alternatives from Canon?

I used manual mode, maybe my shutter speed is too low.
