sorry if this is a repeat question, for a couple with an only child and income tax file separately, is it RM8k/person, RM16k per child?

https://www.ptptn.gov.my/pelepasan-taksiran...kai-sspn-i-side

anybody can verify?
Any body know current deduction of RM8k is valid until which year?
*
As shared by other comments, both mom & dad can claim Rm8k relief per person (if filing tax separately) for the same child (if you have only 1 child).
The 8k was increased from 6k by the PH government. So lets see if they will continue with this by the PN government during the upcoming Budget.

thank but currently that is the only sole source.
would appreciate if there are more collaborated stories of the same.

and a bit doubtful if just one day within the campaign period.

was thinking to play safe, ideally would deposit one week before the campaign ends and then with draw the week AFTER the campaign ended.
*
Try loh and see what happens. Since you already plan to withdraw a week after, no harm trying lor. We are keen to know as well.

Deadline is for 8k. There is no deadline for the usual 6k (its been available for many many years).

I always have problem finding the right login for SSPN-i. I find that there are so many sites so sometimes confused which is the right site to do top-up.

May i know if a single child can have 2 sspn account? One for father ,the other for mother? this is a typical case where a couple have just one child .

Thank you in advance.
*
Yes and works best if you have separate income tax filing (not joint account).

Anyone know usually Dec which date sspn will close?
(mean cant topup and withdraw).

I think no restriction for top-up and withdrawal but in order to qualify for dividend calculation, the recent email I got from them indicated 5 Dec.

thanks. the article is so misleading. the additional 1% is only applicable to the fund deposited within the period and discount the capital already inside. so so so very misleading.

again one forummer mentioned they actually parked super high amount for that time and was granted the 1% which is still worth a lot.
*
Yes I am one of the few that banked in during the 1% promo period but very little cos I didnt really know how it works. Moreover, already maxed out the RM8k during that time, so reluctant to bank in much more.

Now I think its a good promo. May consider parking more than 8k this year and will wait for this promo.

If I am not mistaken, they have this RM8k cap limit for that 1% initially, then last year it was not stated in the T&C.
I remember reading rm80 extra variance
Hopefully, they will still omit the cap

So basically there is no limit to how much you can deposit/top up during this promo period but the max bonus ganjaran of the 1% is RM8,000 - betul ka?

I guess there is no cap in depositing but you will only get extra 1% for RM800k deposit (max). So if you deposit RM1 million, the extra RM200k deposit will get usual interest (last year 4%) but without extra 1% ganjaran.

Not sure which thread is appropriate to ask this question so let me try it here.

Planning to withdraw 50k from SSPN (since child is close to 18 yo in coming years) but no idea where to place it after I withdraw. Close to retirement in less than 10 yrs, already contributing 20% to EPF (self contribution), have PRS, have several unit trusts, several fixed income funds and ASM (all 3).

Anything else that can beat/same consistent return as SSPN other than the abovementioned?
Would it be worth topping up/buying new unit trust and withdraw say in 8-10 yrs time?

Thanks.

would you be ok to see losses during the time you need to take it out?

I guess not. Why would seeing losses be ok when I want to withdraw? Or do you suggest the timeline is too short to see profits?

Maybe can consider robo investing eg Stashaway

Does it automatically allocate funds for me based on my risk appetite? I've got to do a lot of research since I didnt follow up on this subject.

because there is NO sure make profit UT funds or will not lose money during the time you need to withdraw (unless for some FI or MMF) ....
*
Yeah, noted. I know what you mean so UT is not really a good choice for me now.

QUOTE(CSW1990 @ Jan 25 2021, 02:37 PM)
If take out from sspn and slowly continuous invest into unit trust , eg 2000 per month , then the risk should be low.

If take out from sspn and  lumpsum put 50k into unit trust, can you digest the risk if market crash?
FYI currently many stocks are in all time high, whether to enter now is up to you
*
Yes thanks. Lumpsum placement is higher risk and its not the right time currently. Perhaps wait a while more (until at least Covid-19 is very manageable globally)

has this 20% self contribution reached the 60k annual limits?

if not yet, top it up from the money from SSPN to make it 60k annually
*
Does the 60k limit incl employer's portion? If not, I can consider this option.
