What is the difference between SSPN and SSPN-i? I know SSPN-i plus is included insurance only. By the way, what are the documents required for opening of new account for own child? Just birth cert will do?
*
looks like there is only SSPN-i (SSPN1M) and SSPN-1 Plus....

i maybe wrong , but I think the sspn is for previously no internet version

according to this...."The Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN) or National Education Savings Scheme is a savings plan specially designed by Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) or the National Higher Education Fund Corporation to enable parents/guardians to invest for their children's higher education. "

according to Maybank.....

"Documents Required
Completed SSPN Application Form
Completed deposit slip with an initial deposit of minimum RM20.00
Copy of MyKad/Military Card/Police Card of the depositor
Copy of MyKid/Birth Certificate/MyKad of the child
Certification of Adoption (if the SSPN account is meant for an adopted child)
Copy of Payslip/J Form/Confirmation of Income of Depositor and spouse (only applicable for depositors who wish to obtain Matching Grants ("Geran Sepadan") incentive."

https://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...al/ACC-Accounts

according to PTPTN .....
"Hanya Borang Pembukaan Akaun SSPN-i diperlukan."

or use the online version....
Pembukaan Akaun SSPN-i

May I know whether this sspn is only avaible for people with kids? Can single invest in this sspm?
*
googled and fount this.....
Should You Invest in SSPN?
https://mypf.my/2017/05/11/should-you-invest-in-sspn/

Q: Can I open a SSPN-i account if it is not my child? Can I claim tax relief?
You need to be the legal parent or guardian of the child. Tax relief is only for the legal parent or guardian.

Net saving, means you guy will keep the saving in the SSPN without withdrawing it?

2018 put in 6k without withdrawing it until 31 Dec, entitle for tax relief that to be filed in April 2019.
What if I withdraw says 3k from the amount, does my 2019 net saving considered -3k and if anytime in 2019 i desposit 8k, will only entitle me 5k net for tax relief to be filed in April 2020, is my understanding correct? hmm.gif
or actually the 6k deposited is belong to year 2018 basket, any amount withdrawn will not affect the net saving in 2019? nod.gif

while waiting for their responses.....
I googled and found this....

QUOTE(fairylord @ Dec 23 2018, 12:22 PM)
Thanks, for the Q&A 16 of the reference page, i assume the 2011 and 2012 example applicable to 2018, 2019.
However, my situation is more like withdraw the balance of

Baki akaun 2018  RM6,000
Pengeluaran deposit 2018 (RM3,000)
Penambahan deposit 2019 RM8,000
Simpanan bersih 2019 RM11,000

But am i entitled RM8k or RM5k tax relief for 2019?
anyone could enlighten me...thanks
*
Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN) which has been increased to RM8,000 from RM6,000.

https://ringgitplus.com/en/blog/Budget-2019...Your-Money.html

Baki akaun 2018 RM6,000
Pengeluaran deposit 2018 (RM3,000)

if I assume the baki akaun is in 2 Jan 2018, then no contribution in 2018, thus no tax relief to report in April 2019,
but if you did a contribution of RM5000 in 2018, then net contribution would be RM5000-RM3000 = RM2000,...thus RM2000 tax relief to report in April 2019

if I assume the |Penambahan deposit 2019 |RM8,000| is made in 2019, then tax relief report in April 2020....

just not sure if the tax relief will be from calculation from RM8000 or they will need to deduct the RM 3000 (that which was withdrawn in 2018), thus the calculation will be from RM8000 - RM3000 = RM5000....

** there was a similar question posted in post 1208, by forumer ableze_joepardy, ..just not sure the replies
QUOTE(,Nov 25 2018, 10:39 AM)
by tax relief definition it is on tahun semasa.

so if i save 6k in 2018
in 2019 i withdraw all
in 2020 i just save 6k i can get the tax relief d right?

means none has testified and no answer yet

sounds like u have to stick and add the saving in sspn to keep enjoying the financial year tax relief.
*
yes, looks like it....and I think will have to add in too.....

BUT, BUT....maybe it is still an open loophole?? brows.gif brows.gif

just like previously closed loophole about the sumbangan bersih was inclusive of the dividend received which many had managed to enjoy contributing less before being closed.... wub.gif

the argument point/ not so clear point is....
"Potongan yang dituntut adalah terhad kepada amaun tabungan bersih yang dilakukan di dalam sesuatu tahun sahaja. "

http://lampiran2.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/BP_BE2010_1.pdf

it is read as "net contribution in any 1 year only?"

For those of you who did the registration online, do you guys receive the email with your account#?

My wife registered today & made payment but the only email she received was the FPX email. Therefore, she can't create herself a SSPN account since she didn't screenshot the acount# that was shown prior to her making payment. sweat.gif

I wonder why, I being deposit into SSPN since end of year 2017 and never withdraw. And when I check the SSPN statement, I don't see any interest? just the total amount that I have deposit so far.
*
most probably they have not declare the interest/dividend rate to pay for money held with them in 2018

has anyone withdraw the SSPN these few days? Normally how long it takes to process withdrawal?

If I deposit on Dec-18 and make withdrawal on Jan-19, the SSPN 2018 tax relief is counted also rite ?

so you withdraw all in jan 2017...deposited all back in dec 2017 and still get interest for 2017 ?
*
while waiting for his responses....
I think theoretically if you deposited in Dec 2017.....then you should just get abt 1 month of interest...

The eligibility to receive this SSPN-i Loyalty Rewards extra 0.5% dividend is:

# Account has been opened before year 2016.
# Consistent new deposit has been made during year 2016, 2017 and 2018.
# No withdrawal has been made during year 2016, 2017 and 2018.
# Minimum balance in account is at least RM1,000 by 31 December 2018.
# Accumulate at least RM500 new deposit into the account during 1 January 2019 until 30 April 2019.
# The 0.5% dividend is given for the amount of new deposit during 1 January 2019 until 30 April 2019.
# Maximum amount to be given would be RM8,000 per account.

http://voyager8.blogspot.com/2019/01/ptptn...th+Voyager)&m=1

thus assuming one put in RM8000 in the beginning of Jan......
may get about RM8000 x 0.5% extra = RM 40 extra than others this time round.

last year matching grant GS500......deposit RM500, gets RM500 thumbup.gif
