honestly speaking, i dont think having a stationary piece of glass with 3-5% lesser transmitivity of light matters. image quality does not drop significantly (even for pixel peepers) as it doesnt act like a lens bending the light, neither does the EVF output changes the fact that what you get in your memory card will be different. you'll still be looking at the LCD screen to check if your shot turned out alright or not most of the time anyway.

and a plus point, when pitch black, the EVF will have auto compensation to let u see in the dark, as for the OVF.. u wish...

F58am not weather proof. Inside manual it's stated with bold font:

This flash unit is not dust-proof, splash-proof or waterproof.

eddybeh : If you're serious on going FF then you have to ditch your Tamron 10-24mm. Bite the bullet and get the Zeiss 16-35mm after ditching your tammy. The Zeiss lens can be your walkabout lens on your APS-C body until you get a FF. Then you automagically upgrade to ultrawide. After that getting a 50mm prime will complete your line up except for a telephoto which can be much later on.

cplow1: EVFs will get better in time. I'm sure we will be seeing an EVF that's almost like an OVF pretty soon.

8tvt : water proof doesn't really mean u can bring into swimming pool. like if hujan renyai2 can la, if me i wont even use under rain (even my camera sweat.gif )

eddybeh : my combo would be 16-35 / 50mm / 135mm , i'd prefer telephoto (above 135mm) on APS-C. get more range. FF is all bokeh-bokeh for me biggrin.gif

bought the DCM coz of the Fab 50s (50mm lenses). got butt hurt alot vmad.gif

first they wrote the Nikon and Canon according to RRP. then wrote Sony 50mm f1.8 RM650 (APPROX). wat la, so lazy open Sony punya website sweat.gif

user posted image

good thing or odd or they just damn idiot they said the SAL50 f1.8 "IQ is acceptable considering the len's price, but strangely, our review sample proved sharper at its max f1.8 aperture than when stopped down to f2.8" . rclxub.gif

user posted image

another is they say SAL 50 f1.8 is sharper at wide open than Sigma 50 f1.4 doh.gif
which sounds good thou laugh.gif
user posted image

another is why the heck don they review the SAL 50 f1.4 too sad.gif
and why put the macro lenses in the test (Sigma 50 f2.8 macro and pentax 50 f2.8), better put all the 50's like Canon 50 f1.2 and Sony 50 f1.4 nod.gif

shootkk: you got a point there, EVF can keep upgrading, while OVF, erm maybe someday they built in LED light inside OVF to see in the dark LOL

mastering89: that why i never by photography mag, all the editor are stupid. i find their statement get more and more and more misleading. like once i read that some mag claimed NEX is digital shutter. sigh. use those monthly rm10 rm10 to save up and buy proper photography book le!

few book i highly recommend:

The Photographers Eye - composition and design by micheal freeman (highly recommend!!!! this book will greatly teaches you "how to see" a composition! from a simple picture, he can crop out 10 diff interesting composition!)

lighting for portrait photography by steve bavister (expensive, very little to read, but i love how he show his photo that looks like shoot with available light, but its control light. his shot is something like azrul~)

light, camera, capture - creative lighting technique for digital photographers by bob davis (although talks a lot bout canon system and badmount nikon's, like how joe love nikon hate canon... lol, but a good book to widen your WL skill.)

i got all these physical books wink.gif love them.

same here. you get stupid biased reviews from that magazine... I use to buy it before (not regularly but just when im bored)... but then I gave up on them once the biasness really became obvious to me...

I usually use the internet for reviews.

(even though sony wins, they'll find something to make canon and nikon win. Fanboys... shakehead.gif) Ask them to take kit lens and compare with cz2470 laa. shakehead.gif

that why, till today, canon and nikon user who brought those book keep thinking sony is shit. they all got mis leaded.

i nearly laughed to near death, when me and my friend meet a canon 7D user, he go show off his 7D wireless mode (using his pop up flash), and keep saying sony suck, and claim sony doesnt has WL flash. i really laughed to near death... i didnt bring my flash nor my camera that day, only friend brought his A55... 7D was canon own first with built in WL trigger when sony has it 4 years back. really dumbarse.

mastering89: Why are you still buying a magazine made by a lazy editorial team?

The Sony 50mm F1.8 DT SAM has a RRP of RM599 BTW.

d4rkholeang3l: If you got it more in focus and lower it might help to give the illusion that it is a real car.

+1

They just get the stuff from UK then add a little fanboyism then sell it to the malaysian market. sad.

it seems that, at MFD, the depth of field is really shallow... I took that shot with f/13 if not mistaken...
Not enuf power from flash, using 1/4000s in dark situation...I think if shoot with ambient also need ISO 1600 , 1/30s =.=

Mikeshashimi : look look then cari ebook biggrin.gif . i only buy books i really2 want to read/keep. even my coursework book mostly ebook sweat.gif

Newbieeeeee : nvm la , they have their own preference. nod.gif

ieR : true2, sometimes i got friends ask me which camera good. and when i say with budget of rm2.0-2.5k or less i'd choose Sony they marah say me fenbui. but if compare thru specs and features, really at that time Sony a33/a55 is the best (that time not yet come out D3100 or 1100D).

misleading + misinformed + friends who are fenbui sad.gif
but still i'd say follow your friend, can borrow his/her stuff and also learn2 first, gearhead later laugh.gif

albnok : i just wanna see the fab 50 part sweat.gif

spam of D24 and Raja Kunyit (dunno which one's which)
