i afraid.. fast² later.. gear strip la ieR?

Er how? Ssm is literally built onto the gear,

Gear strip happen when you did something to put pressure on the focus ring(the focus ring is built on the af gear), say unmount hood from 1870, or put your hand on focus ring when you af, jamming its movements, thus gear stripped

Ssm lens mostly have clutch where it release the focus ring during af, hence there is no way you can jam it till gear strip. Unless the build has defects, like cases of clutch jamming are common in *extreme cold places. The grease frozen.

during the convention, we tested the 70200 HSM (sigma) and when test the 70200G, the speed of the SSM is farrrrrrrrrrr more faster then HSM, it made HSM seem so slow. and due to the sigma's quality sharpness only start at F4 (shoot an event with it, F2.8 is crap) i rather go for tamron even it's claimed slow(website review usually gotten canon/nikon test unit, which has lousy built in motor), but sony's A mount uses screw driven, and newer body somehow focuses faster (some friend claim the beercan runs faster on A55/580 vs older body)

beercan is indeed faster on a55

bysquashy: #1 could be nicer if u frame the couple into the photo...i mean whole body along with the reflection and make it like a lomo or monotone...hehe..#2 is nice!.. thumbup.gif  #3 u shoot with what lens?...zoom lens?..i saw nice bokeh!.. drool.gif

btw, i am looking for a good sharp copy of beercan...and selling my 30mm macro...very very new...bought on 3rd march 2011..but seldom use...coz my camera masuk kilang d... rclxub.gif

refer to my signature down there for the link to garage sales...hehe..

I have another photo with the couple in the photo but didn't like the result. For #2, I wanted a lower angle but then the reflection will appear, that's why I need CPL. All my photos are using SAL18250, I have SAL50F18 but I seldom use it. Don't like the range :/

I love the #4 awesome.this is take from which place?

Taken the photo from Wollongong, Australia. However since the photo is not a location specific photo, I guess you can get the photo anywhere.

Codyx: Yes it does change to TTL, read the manual.

bysquashy: Nice #1 and #4!

Soony: It is usable. However on the A33/A55 make sure you get the rechipped version.

shootkk: Congratulations!

if i were you i'd get telephoto lens...

Beercan (70-210 f4) is always a good option brows.gif

or Tamron 70-300

really depends on what kind of photos you want to achieve...

in my honest opinion, id rather get the 55200 than the 75300...

Beercan is about 650-750 (no new ones as far as I know)...

Tamron i'm not sure. u can check at shashinki.
