zstan: The rings binding has nothing to do with the frequency of cleaning or any chemicals. It is just friction.
Codyx: What exactly do you mean by hanging? I have not gotten it to hang before. However there will be a delay if you shoot a burst of shots and fill the buffer - it will take a long time to clear. It does matter if you're not getting your facts right, or else people will get the wrong idea. Like "I heard from this guy in LYN that the A33/A55 has this problem can hang... but dunno exactly what and cannot prove." So please tell us how you got the problem so we can confirm if it really happens or not. Some other guy said that the A560/A580 could AF while recording video over in another forum. I said "cannot lah but to be sure you try it before you buy", but he insisted it could. And then some fella bought it anyway thinking it could, thinking "oh I try later at home to make it AF in video even though at the shop, cannot..." If you must make a claim, please do so responsibly. fansoption: It is 500 milliseconds (half a second) not 1 or 2 seconds. You can try it yourself by shooting a stopwatch. It is just friction. well if you put 2 different metals with different reactivities together, under the right conditions(like water vapour in the air), both of them will react, and ions will flow, causing depreciation of one of the metals. already forgot the details la. learned it in electrochemistry quite some time ago. |

Codyx: Well then, record a video of it hanging if you cannot put it in words.
You know lah how it is with people here, see one fella say "this camera can hang" or "A560/A580 can AF in video" straight away they believe without reading further. (Okay, so people are stupid, but don't laugh when you see your statement up in SonyAlphaRumors.) So you absolutely have to be specific. Also, if you post how to make it hang, the rest of us can try to see if we can get it to hang, and figure out what makes it hang. zstan: Whoa, that goes way back! http://www.schneideroptics.com/info/faq/bw.htm Though what the site says is the opposite: QUOTE Aluminum rings will often bind to the aluminum housing of the lens. Brass will not bind to aluminum, making it the superior choice for filters. QUOTE First, most of our filters are mounted in brass rings to prevent the filter from binding to the aluminum housing of the lens |

Video got....showed to the staffs @ service center....but that's is not a problem...the problem is how to make it 'hang' as for the situation take places....when i said it HANG......the whole system freeze and none of the button will work plus you can't even turn off the camera....resolve to pulling the battery out and run it again....

QUOTE(albnok @ Apr 4 2011, 05:37 PM) Codyx: Well then, record a video of it hanging if you cannot put it in words. Brass in this case, is special. Aluminium also causes a highly beneficial hard layer of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) to be formed on the surface that is thin, transparent and self healing. So although aluminium will attack brass, but at the same time, the aluminium oxide which is formed will restore the brass. And yes, you are right about the friction part. QUOTE Brass is a substitutional alloy. It is used for decoration for its bright gold-like appearance; for applications where low friction is required.....................Because it is softer than most other metals in general use, brass is often used in situations where it is important that sparks not be struck, as in fittings and tools around explosive gases(or filters for that matter). I hope i made sense. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 1 open a picture 2 zoom on the picture, you may navigate the zoom 3 test your EVF sensor whether is it working 4 delete your photo(while in zoom factor) WHILE activate the Live>EVF sensor SIMULTANEOUSLY >>>NEED PRACTICE/REPEATING 5 Hang... Pull your battery out to reset Step 4 requires practice or repeatation NOTE: Tested with other machine(a55/a33) beside this and all have the similar problem, Tried Using different Mem. card and battery, with or without lens... Do not blame me if you can't work out with the situation as i teach the SONY technician and demonstrate with him for whole day for him to work the problem(cause the problem) to occur...and they tested with all other machine which show the same sign don't ask me why i do this sequence because normally i'll use EVF for all purposes including deleting/viewing bla bla bla...so in reality, when i delete a photo(after zoom) which coincidentally similar with the 'steps' above the problem occurs... Comments welcomed.. This post has been edited by Codyx: Apr 4 2011, 06:41 PM |

QUOTE(zstan @ Apr 4 2011, 06:44 PM) You need to make sure the photo is in a 100% zoomed state/Magnify...then proceed to the activating EVF sensor + Deleting the photo with the zoomed state...hard to explain....that's why i choose not to explain then confuse you guys earlier This post has been edited by Codyx: Apr 4 2011, 06:51 PM |
