Guys,

which one is more worthy to get?

Ducky 1008 NT$2390

or

Ducky NT$3390
(Anyone can tell what model this is? Is this 1008?)

Thanks.
*
The cheaper one is 1008, more expensive one is 9008
You can choose standard english keycaps, but it also comes free with black on black keycaps FOC for the 9008

Maybe you should hold it till your Leopold arrives, and maybe more people will join then?
It's not that getting them late will do any harm to anyone?

EDIT: I might want to wait till your leopolds arrive and you send it one shot to me. Of course, i'll pay for the keycaps 1st

Bought some Cherry MX switches from taobao. Black, Red, Blue, Brown, Clear
Going to do some switch try since this is the only way i can tell which switch suits me.
Want suggest what do I do with it once I try them?

Thinking of buying this
http://cgi.ebay.com.my/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=280516284309
and then solder them in or something but not now

Seller told me he can arrange for shipping to Malaysia

have you placed the order? i'm interested in getting some as well~ notworthy.gif

You mean the keypad? Not yet. Though there no difference in the shipping cost

For switches, I have told seller to put on hold
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=7678577099
here's the link if you have not got it already

Trying to keep the order under 1KG. So unless it is switches, I don't think I wanna let anyone join

So guys, I haven't been keeping up with the mechanical keyboard scene for quite a while now...

Is Razer Blackwidow still the cheapest Cherry MX Blue keyboard available in the Malaysian market?
*
Yes. Anything else and you'd have to get it from Taiwan or Taobao, which should cost a bit more than Rm270 which is the going price for the BW.
If you hate the glossy stuff, take a look at PCHOME taiwan global website.
They have Ducky for NT$2190 and including shipping that makes up to be about rm280~ ish

EDIT: The inevitable cleanup by Mods. I guess someone other than cyclone or edifier has to inform this thread about the arrival of them Leopolds and FILCOs. Or 'Someone' might get Jeles

They've been out of english caps for a while already.
Maybe you can try source from taobao. Plus you can tapao those keycaps together and save on postage

Hmm... it looks nice indeed, but if I'm not mistaken, their warranty are... serviceless parts warranty? sad.gif

I'll wait a few more months to see if there'll be any shift in the market like retailers or distributors bringing in more stuff to the actual local market ( instead of having to import from Taiwan or China ) and if nothing changes, I guess a Blackwidow for me then.

The glossy frame of the BW does indeed look ugly, but the keys themselves aren't glossy from what I saw at the store...

So there's always the option of taking off the top ugly glossy side frame of the Blackwidow... and sandpaper it to matte perfection.  brows.gif

The leopolds and the FILCOs are going to cost more than BlackWidow Expert while competitive to the BWU based on previous discussions in V1. Otherwise you can start a WTB thread and see who wants to sell you their BWE

Colors are not my taste aso. But i love the color black. Double shot black keycaps would be awesome happy.gif but it comes with a price  sad.gif

I was referring to grey keycaps ala the double shots from GH
I m thinking that either Black blanks + red 37 keys + red esc/GH/Panic, or White Blanks on Black keyboard, those look sexy

Typing like this is not going to help your cause one bit, in fact you might anger them. If you want to make a complaint, helpdesk is right up there.
But if you want to save trouble, just phrase your posts smartly so that it does not get in to the dustbin

Quite expensive, but you can get it pretty fast

Otherwise, try taobao. Plenty of tumpang agents in lowyat, pick the one you like

hi guys,

need some opinion, i wanted to get the Steelseries 6gv2 for gaming purpose, issit better to go for mechanical keyboards or 6gv2 is better? i dont know how to order from PCHome, is there any significant differences from the 6gv2 to those Mechanical keyboards say Ducky 1008/9008?

thanks
*
The steelseries is using cherry MX black switches. Basically any other keyboards with cherry mx black switches will feel agak agak the same.
The cheapest you can get from PCHOME black switches should be the 1008. At Rm260 including shipping, there is some significant price difference.

Heres a good guide on ordering from PCHOME

Since some of us here understand chinese, if you need any help, ask straight away

Is there a need to start a new thread for this, the leopolds?

It is counterintuitive, but them mods are sensitive towards these things

Theres an ione scorpius with MX blues going for RM189 before shipping. Pretty cheap, but people cast doubts on the build quality. Otherwise theres that keyboard with double shot keycaps from taobao
Any cheaper and you have to look for ALPS switches, or see whoever has BS switches lying around in their houses.

Is the soldering part complicated?
Its rather embarrassing to say that my soldering skills as a EE student is rather limited.

The steps are, solder iron -> desoldering pump-> wobble the switch, rinse and repeat till the switch pops out? That all I can understand from the youtube videos, but maybe you can provide some insight?
