imo all brown switches are just brown switches, hell most of them come from the same manufacture (cherry). just different keyboard bodies and key cap materials....
its like..... which laptop wif i7 and gt 555m is the best in playing games? answer: all laptops wif i7 and gt555m can play games just as good, just the laptop brand, hdd and other small factors that make the diff in price and customer preference. cuz they are all from nvidea and intel, all same spec -.- hope it answers ur question. filco is a japan brand wif a higher price tag, ducky have btr materials for their price tag. and etc etc... |

The BW, is a decent keyboard for its price, a starter Mech Keyboard I'd say. But thats not the point of the discussion, and some people do disagree.i heard at least half a dozen of ppl throw away SS 7g or BWU for dt 35. FTFY. (most users here own Mech keyboards, but they don't necessarily own DT35) Comparing switches then proceed to tell which one is better is an opinion, not a fact. I like using my Model M, and i do enjoy brown switches. Model M are heavier than brown switches, thats a fact. But I can't say which one is better either, but if you make me choose, I'd choose the brown for it's noise qualities, but that is my opinion. Some people may say not all brown switch keyboard are made the same. Try comparing plate mounted vs PCB mounted. I have a plastic plate mounted ALPS keyboard and the feeling is definitely different And I had a friend telling me his MX browns sucks and proceed to use the apple aluminium keyboard. So what? He doesn't appreciate it, let him be. But I digress, the point in this thread is to discuss Mech Keyboards. So what if users here own DT35. I don't see people here talking about clothes, since all of us wear clothes. Nothing wrong with comparing Domes vs Mech switches, but spreading Dome love in here, a cheap one at that, maybe you two DT35 lovers should go spread it in them /Gaming Keyboards/ or start your own fanclub This post has been edited by kaiserreich: Jun 8 2011, 12:03 PM |

Uhm.... Guys, let's just forget about DT35 thingie, and just continue back our discussion on mechanical keyboards.
i don't want a moderator to settle this war in the end, please. For Users that are talking about DT35 comparing to Brown Switch, you can discuss it, but please to not taking it off topic.(a comparing to mechanical switch is still in bounds of mechanical keyboard topic). Added on June 8, 2011, 1:06 pm QUOTE(Ulysses @ Jun 8 2011, 12:56 PM) it's okay, we understands that you are new to the mechanical keyboard. but please read the 1st page on my topic if you wanted to understand more about mechanical keyboard. and once you read the thread, you will pretty much know the basic knowledge of mechanical keyboard. This post has been edited by Cyclonechuah: Jun 8 2011, 01:06 PM |

wa.. suddenly got flame.
btw.. how true is it that black switches are silent. Are they really much quieter compared to the other switches? blue switches are the noisiest right? I see my friend typing on the BWU..it's pretty loud, and the key placements are abit weird. Before today i was still considering between 6GV2 (RM340)and BW expert.(RM270), but I'm leaning towards the 6GV2 now.. I'm pretty budget conscious right now. Will I really be impressed with the 6GV2 over the BWE? It will be my first mech keyboard, but i want it to really suit me.. pretty hardcore gamer, from FPS to RTS to RPGS, but mostly FPS. I saw some Filcos and others, and I read the first post, but which switch do you all find the most adaptable and comfortable? This post has been edited by hydrogen: Jun 8 2011, 01:59 PM |

QUOTE(hydrogen @ Jun 8 2011, 01:58 PM) wa.. suddenly got flame. the experience varies from person to person and we can't actually tell you the most adaptable and comfortable.btw.. how true is it that black switches are silent. I saw some Filcos and others, and I read the first post, but which switch do you all find the most adaptable and comfortable? Well, for comfortable part, you need to spend more for the leather arm rest For adaptable, we will actually recommend you try the mechanical keyboard before you buy. Blue if you don't mind noisy, and brown, for typing and gaming. Red and Black Switch are for users have experience with Blue and Brown, and would know what switch they wanted, since I don't particular suggest you to get Black or Red. But if you know what you wanted to get, you can grab those. Between Red and Black, i would recommend you to grab Red Switch since they are require less force to press and should be more convenient to new users like you because Black sometimes can be tiring for new users. For Noisy part, i think new users will think every mechanical keyboard is noisy, due to the fact when they use the keyboard, they tends to bottoming out all the keys and resulting a "clack" sound blue will be like "click" "clack". QUOTE(hydrogen @ Jun 8 2011, 01:58 PM) wa.. suddenly got flame. Your game choice seems to point you towards black. BW sure has a weird keyboard layout. Not really weird, its just kinda squashed in due to the extra row of macro keys. Requires some getting use to, but it works out nicely in the end. The best way to choose your keyboard is to test them out, both are totallly different properties so its best if you can find friends of shops that have those two on demo to play with.btw.. how true is it that black switches are silent. I saw some Filcos and others, and I read the first post, but which switch do you all find the most adaptable and comfortable? Black switches, when you are mashing away the keys on the board, would not be so silent compared to domes, if you are basing the silence on that. Why not use you're friend's BWU for a few rounds and see if you like that. If you do, then jump in, and pull the trigger. Otherwise go try the SS 6GV2. You could probably try them browns at Lowyat, on the FILCO, but admittedly those are on the upper end of your budget. Read back few posts and you'll see that the Tenkeyless board went for RM390. Unless you absolutely must have a numpad, that's a pretty decent price for a FILCO. If you must have reds/clears if you want these, you'd need to import, for the time being anyway. |
