Interesting. Did you try taking the spacebar out? And see if there is something stuck underneath? Happened to me once, I put it in my bag and the stabilizer somehow dropped off. I kept pressing the spacebar and not registering properly. Took it apart then saw that it fell off. Put it back, the good as new.

Stratos. Lemme try when I go back home. lol.

Just need to desolder everything and change.
Taking MX switches out is not that hard compared to ALPS switches. I desoldered my AT101W with black ALPS, took me a quite a while to do that, and in the process, damaged a few PCB traces

But thing is, might be easier to just get a Filco with blue switches like that. Instead of desoldering everything and resoldering everything. See lar.

btw, all soldering works shouldn't heat ur solder point too long
which might lead to melt down of ur switch

Nice
It took me quite fast to desolder these switches, but taking them out was a real pain due to the solder still sticking to the traces. Any pointers on that?

Get a better soldering station - more reason to buy something new!
And every engineer should be equipped with the following:

1. Multimeter
2. Soldering station
3. Oscilloscope (optional)

You did use a desoldering pump to suck up the melted metal solder right?

Today, i was buying a kb for my gf. So i was going around testing few keyboards in lowyat. Then i saw this Filco kb in Viewtech. so i just tried it, and omg this is such great feeling when u press it. I really want to get 1 but out of my budget.

Any other similiar kb to it that is cheaper?

Yes and Yes, a brand new one at that. Prolly need some metal braid to go with the residual solder stuck between the pin and the side of hole
Maybe my skills are just not up to par, practice makes perfect.

My next mod is probably on a plate mounted one for ergo clears, no soldering iron needed.

Yea, maybe some more practice.. haha.. but i know when you solder and wanna solder it nicely, you can use the soldering paste flux to help your heating gun..

It will remove the dried and burnt solder on the tip to make a cleaner solder and better solder..

user posted image

refer to my pic, theres a oil paste at the side.. RM3 only.. can last for years soldering stuff..
