My usage mainly for office work, internet browsing, watching movies and video editing. And yes, HP comes with 3 years warranty meanwhile Asus comes with 2 years warranty. For Acer, I am not sure.

If you're not into gaming, then either 3 will do, just pick the one you like most... Theoretically, HP will be the best option because of the 3 years warranty...

There are laptops with i5 + Intel HD... but most are out of your budget, whereas some are FreeDOS...
Anyway, try this Inspiron 14R (i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1949)  thumbup.gif

Are those laptops chargable for 3% tax at PC Fair?

So if RM3,000 = RM90?

Basically i3-380M > P6200; AMD HD6470> Intel HD nod.gif
You should check out the real thing only then decide which one to get nod.gif

Hmm... my real consideration is between Asus A43SV and Acer Aspire TimelineX. I own an Acer Travel Made which I purchased in 2004 and after 7 years, it's still working perfectly (just once changed its HDD and RAM). My experience with Acer has been good so far. Unfortunately for my sister and many friends who own Acer, they frequently having problems with their laptops. On the other hand, I rarely hear complaint about Asus.

TravelMates are business class laptops I think? hmm.gif
Budget line laptops are most of the time more problematic than premium ones.. The TimelineX is considered premium compared to the budget-line A series... hmm.gif
If we're only looking at specs and features, Asus A43Sv would be the better choice due to the non-built-in battery and also the 2 years international warranty.... But things ain't that simple in real life... the looks of the 4830Tg alone would be enough to poison a buyer laugh.gif

Asus is the only budget laptop with 2 years international warranty by default..

Consider A53Sv @rm2399 or N53Sv @rm2599..

I'm going to UK also on June for my studies.

My friend working in Asus booth in PC fair quoted me:
Asus A43SV-VX053V
i5-2410M (2nd generation)
Win7 premium
Nvidia GT 540M 1gb (middle class graphic card)
500gb Hard Disk
4gb Ram (2gbx2)
Price = RM 2280 without free gifts

which i think is quite a bargain and best buy for this budget range considering it's 2yrs international warranty.

Anyway want to ask what does the other experts here feel bout this specs? I'm also surveying for a laptop for my UK studies

Thats quite a bargain you got there because RRP for that laptop is rm2399.. Rm119 discount there..

Yes Asus is the way to go because of the international warranty.. I am studying in London and my current laptop is Asus too =) but bear in mind the warranty claim here isn't as convenient as Malaysia..

Yea i know but considering a local warranty that does not entitle u to any claim at all in UK, at least having a 1% change of claiming warranty is still much better than none.
