I checked Alliance Bank website.

Under BUSINESS PLATINUM, there is a statement below:

"Complimentary entry at the KLIA Plaza Premium Airport Lounge (valid for 1st 150 Platinum Cardmembers per month, subsequent Cardmembers will receive 50% discount on entry charges and all guest(s) of Cardmembers will receive 25% discount on entry charges)"

Are they revising it already?
*
We are talking about Alliance Plat, not Biz Plat. But , I can understand why you refer to Biz Plat because I don't think you can find any info on Alliance Unlimited Free entries to KLIA PPL with the normal plat in their website.

How does one go about using the airport lounge when one has the card ?
a. Buy the air ticket with the card and then go to the lounge ?
b. Or just go to the lounge with the card (regardless of whether one bought the ticket using the card or not) ?

Heard that Maybank Inifinte card has that feature as well.
*
b. Just present you credit card or Priority Pass Membership card to the counter staff for entry.

MBB VI allows you 5 free entries to airport lounges worldwide with Priority Pass Membership card. Click here to see mine smile.gif

went to senai PP lounge yesterday. saw few ppl was denied entry using UOB preferred platinum. Starts this year only limits to UOB preferred platinum with "privilege" wording or midas platinum.  vmad.gif
*
So far only chintl reported new changes for 2012.

I just called HLB Visa Signature CS to ask about unlimited access to KLIA and LCCT and was told that it is still applicable BUT must bring along our Priority Pass Membership card. Last year, all I had t do was show them the EON VS to get free entry.

Someone reported that you can bring a friend if you have 2 cards in your name that allow PL use. True?
*
I think someone did mention this for Citibank issued Priority Pass Membership card since it allows 2 FREE entries. Not sure for Maybank Visa Infinite's PPM.

But I can confirm that Singapore Skyview Lounge staff would not let me use more than one Priority Pass Membership Card to enter for FREE i.e. I have 3 PPM cards but they only allowed me to use 1 of them to enter for "FREE" vmad.gif For KLIA and LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge, they alllow me to use different credit cards for FREE entries for my entire family Click here to read more about it and see photos of Changi Airport T1 Skyview Lounge.

KLIA PP is located at the satelite building. So in the 1st place is whether Jetstar uses the satelite building. If not then with a boarding pass, you will also not be able to use the facility.

Which I don't think Jetstar flew from the satelite building.
*
When I go to SG with JetStar, so far the departure gate is at the Satellite Building for my case.

Starting April 2012 No access for UOB Platinum "Privilege Banking" Card as well. I may as well switch to other cards with access soon.
*
It is not there is no free access to KLIA PPL with UOB Privilege Banking. The requirement to be eligible for UOB Privilege Banking has been for increased from RM300K to minimum RM500K and current Preferred Platinum credit cards issued previously is no longer considered Prestigious. You want to enter KLIA PPL with a UOB Prestigious credit card, you need to be invited for their new Visa Infinite.

QUOTE(pspfan @ Apr 20 2012, 07:27 AM)
just get the scb VI if u really need unlimited airport lounge access.
*
True, SCB VI is excellent for airport lounge access. But for people who don't fly often and deposit money in 12 months FD, UOB offering 3.6-3.7% interest for the past 1 year; and that's like 0.5% higher than SCB rate of 3.15%, so one would be losing out more than RM1K/year considering the fact one needs RM250K with SCB. Then again, one does not necessary needs to deposit RM250K with SCB to get their VI.

The moment OCBC and UOB stop their FD promos, I am going back to SCB, hahaha.

Bro, any reason why you are not considering Bank Rakyat which has higher interest rates?
*
Yah, I saw your post where you did get pretty good rates from Bank Rakyat. No particular reason bro, just that Bank Rakyat somehow does not interest me.

QUOTE(MGM @ Apr 20 2012, 11:00 AM)
BTW, I think CITI VS card still the best for Local Airports' Lounge access.
*
QUOTE(b00n @ Apr 21 2012, 12:39 AM)
For local, only Amex Plat allows indefinite visits. For overall airport lounges, nothing beats SCB VI.
I believe most will agree. So technically Citi VS not really the best as there is limit to local and only 2 free pass per annum for other lounges.
Correct me if my understanding is wrong.
*
I think someone mentioned before that Citi Plat and PremierMiless VS now offer unlimited access to KLIA and LCCT. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I think HLB VS also allows unlimited access to local lounges..

until 30 June 2012

QUOTE(b00n @ Apr 21 2012, 09:30 AM)
if that is the case, then nothing special with Citi Premier Miles anymore... wink.gif
Just that Premier Miles got 20% discount for guest.
*
I don't get you, should not it be the other way round? Citi PremierMiles more special with unlimited access to KLIA and LCCT.

Amex also unlimited.
And if what pspfan mentioned HL VS also unlimited, then nothing special about Premier Miles in terms of PP  lounge in Malaysia lor... hehe
The only thing I know is with Premier Miles, additional guest is with 20% discount. Don't know about the rest of the others...

If you are referring to AMEX's AMEX Platinum Credit Card or Charge Card, that one different league. Anytime better that most credit cards out there with 2X MR points (which equates to unlimited cash back of 1% and if sign up for Turbo points 1.5%) PLUS 10X MR at participating merchants (or 5% unlimited cash back). However, to get the annual fee waived one needs to spend a considerable sum with it. Anyway, bro, did you get your AMEX Plat annual fee waived and yes how much you spent a year with it?

As for AMEX Kris Flyer, it also offer unlimited access to our local airport lounges. Anyone manage to get the annual fee waived? If yes, how much did you spend with it.

As for HLB VS, since mid last year (when it was still EON Bank), the card offered unlimited access to KLIA and LCCT PPL and HLB extended the promo until end June this year. This best thing is, HLB reduced the minimum income requirement from RM180K to RM80K! On paper the card looks great with 1.5X bonus Points for local spending and 2X for overseas PLUS 1% cash back too for overseas spending. And the Enrich miles conversion is even better than Citi PremierMiles VS. The HLB VS comes with 3 Priority Pass Membership access to airport lounges worldwide compared to Citi PremierMiles 2 times.

Having said that, I seldom use my HLB VS since I have Maybankard 2 AMEX which earns me 5X TP everyday for my local transactions. But HLB was kind enough to waive my annual fee end of last year even tho I did not even come close to spending RM30K with it to get auto annual fee waiver.

To those of you who are interested in reading more about HLB VS - click on below link to my article.

Hong Leong Bank Visa Signature - The Best Visa Signature Credit Card? which I published two months back.

Why I can't see any section of the HLB web that display RM80k min income to apply the HLB VS?
*
you are right, it is no longer there in HLB website but you can always call HLB CS to confirm. Maybe they realized that by reducing the annual income requirement they are also attracting people to get the card just for free access to PPL lounge, hahaha

Yah, CIMB have 3 versions of World MasterCard too.

To qualify for CIMB VI i need RM1M AUM like the new UOB VI

But CIMB VI-i is Free For Life with unlimited access to PPL (just like SCB which is not Free For Life).

The new UOB VI comes with access to Plaza Premium but it is not unlimited and it is not free.

To add, not any Privilege Banking customer. One needs minimum AUM of RM1M with UOB and there's also a annual income requirement. And the annual fee is even higher than RHB VI!!!

I just checked with UOB. New criteria for "Privilege Banking" is RM500K. However current PB customers are not affected. I think their PB program has been so successful that they have to throttle the new entrants.
*
Yah, their program so successful that I do my normal banking at the general banking hall which has less people and being served faster!!

Anyway, for airport lounge worldwide, the best is still Standard Chartered Priority Banking Visa Infinite where one needs only RM250K AUM and with current Standard Chartered Bank Step Up Savings Promotion with average interest of 4% for 6 months, good opportunity to go get SCB VI before 6th May 2012.

hi guys when we access the lounge do we need to present the flight/ticket?
*
For KLIA and LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge, most of the time no need, I think I was asked once only to show boarding pass at LCCT PPL.

QUOTE(pspfan @ Apr 30 2012, 04:25 PM)
just got confirmation from  a fren who applied for the HLB VS. fyi they do not  provide the priority pass card anymore effective 1st march. So i guess this card is basically useless for the airport lounge kakis...
*
You are right, the card is useless (for overseas airport lounge). Like that I only have 5 access per year (instead of total 8 comes end of this year when my HLB VS anniversary) to airport lounges worldwide with my MBB VI. Must go use up HLB VS PPM passes ASAP.

Got to go revise 1st post. Thanks for the info.

FYI, even the Principal card holder of Citibank Platinum Cash Back credit card is not entitled to enter PPL for FREE.

I am wondering about this too as I read previously that if you own more than 1 card that allow access, you can bring a guest FOC. Definitely they can see the names are similar as you are required to sign the slip for both cards.
*
I had no problem taking my son into LCCT using different cards. But sometimes it depends on the personnel on duty. Most of the time they don't even ask to see my boarding pass but on one occasion they did.

Having 2 cards from the same issuer with same name...hmmm, I wonder if Citibank will allow it. You see, for Citibank, you'll need to sign a "slip" whereas some cards the counter staff only needs to fill in your name on a form and you sign on the same form.

There are two main entry gates before immigration at LCCT, the PPL is located just before you enter the "left" gate.

If you are on international flights, you wouldn't miss it. Because it is on the right before you enter the departure hall.

yah, the correct terms is entry to departure hall (where security chck boarding pass). Was trying to figure out what it was called earlier.

And the other departure hall (also has immigration counters) is also used for overseas flights and he won't find the PPL there, haha
