this is screenshot app which is installed by default in the phone when you flashed to cm v0.8 + hotfix4.

cm v0.8 is already rooted by default. you don't need to root anymore.

@ Max 729MHz - no sleep issue, no auto reboots, no wifi sleep issues (wifi auto disconnect)

@ Min 245MHz - no video/songs/youtube lags, skype conversations smooth and clear.

I 've tried many other settings, but either have sleep issues/auto reboots/wifi sleep issues or video/songs/youtube lags. So these are the best settings which works well for me - smooth, fast and no lags...and most important it is stable.

Another thing is that I set my governor to ONDEMAND. I've tried POWERSAVE, but this settings makes my skype conversation lags and barely audible. But also it saves battery.

1) No need to delete your apps and also no need to do hard reset.
2) Download the latest CWM and instructions here : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(d...cret-projectgt/
3) Flash it with odin
4) After completed flashing, you'll see the CWM. Select data wipe/factory reset (you only do this once, no need to data wipe again even if you're updating CM roms or hotfix.
4) Download CM7.1.0 v0.8 and hotfix4b
a) Download and instructions here : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(d...axy5'-port/
5) Install the v0.8 and hotfix4b using CWM recovery. (to open CWM, press the off button > reboot > recovery.. and your phone will go into CWM).
6) Then install Google Apps.
7) Reboot

Done!

Hi! many thanks for your guide here. I've successfully install it. But I still confused the order in step 5) and 6). So I just install three of them one by one.
After reboot, I cannot install GMail.
Now apps that installed in previous ROM is automatic download! 60+ apps ouch!
- Well, the impressive thing is when many apps installed in the same time, there's only a little-acceptable lag.

Sytem:
- Model number: Galaxy5
- Android: 2.3.4
- Baseband: I5503DXJP7
- Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf conn@virtual #31
- Mem info (avail/total) - even after installed 50+ apps - : 55 MB / 184 MB
- Mod version: CM-7.1.0-RC1-MADTEAM
- Build number: GRJ22

1) Yup, install one by one in order, ie. cm v.0.8 first , then hotfix4 and lastly google apps.

2) You can further install google apps from this link : http://android.modaco.com/topic/335141-add...pps-2011-07-12/

BUT DON'T INSTALL THE FULL PACKAGE (as Psyke has informed that they may be corrupted because of partial download as our G5 internal storage does not support such big file)

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE APPS ONE AT A TIME.

3) Apps in your previous ROM are automatically downloaded in your new rom because of Google sync. But this is not a problem as you can uninstall any of your apps.

4) CM v0.8 does not include Google apps as it is designed for us to select any google apps according to our own preferences. This is why we need to download and install the google apps separately.

You can install them using two methods :

1) Copy the downloaded file to your sdcard. Install with CWM.

or

2) Extract the downloaded file and ONLY copy the apk file to your sdcard. Ignore/delete other files. Just install it like normal, ie. just select and press the apk to install it with your default installation app.

Latest Release:
Full update package: v0.9
Hotfix package: v0.9 hotfix1

Latest Changelog:
v0.9 - 15 July 2011:
Data wipe?: not needed.

Known issue: it's very fast...
Known issue (really): cannot hang up calls. Fixed with hotfix 1.

Hotfix1 [16 July]: fixes call hangup bug. We were missing some Samsung RIL files.

Kernel: backported 2.6.35 KGSL & DRM drivers.
WiFi: now using ar6000.ko built from source; should solve sleep of death, but connecting/reconnecting is still not 100% perfect.
Framework: fixed incorrect cellular network signal reporting.
Framework: replaced all adreno200 libs with Samsung Ace Gingerbread versions.
Framework: removed all graphics workarounds.
Updated Cyanogen source.
Summary: this release has significantly better graphics performance and more stable wifi.

2nd method seems ok.
SD-Booster isn't needed, since it already applied.

Yup, install zip from sdcard.

To boot CWM - PRESS > OFF (CALL END) BUTTON > REBOOT > RECOVERY

Before you install v0.9, I suggest you backup your present rom/settings with CWM first. In case you want to revert back to the present rom, you just use CWM to restore and everything will be exactly as your present rom and settings....no need to use titanium backup..etc... This is one thing great about CWM!

1) after pressing the off button, you should see the > reboot > recovery options. if you don't, that means CWM is not install yet on your phone.

2) don't install full package > i mean the google apps from http://android.modaco.com/topic/335141-add...pps-2011-07-12/
but you can install the full package from Madteam's > Google Apps (20110613).

3) did you partitioned your sdcard with EXT4 (primary)? if not the rom will not work.

4) did you do data wipe/factory reset in CWM mode (during flashing CWM with odin)?
