After spending a long time with 2.0.6, i finally decided to flash to 2.0.9 and I must say it's really responsive and did the compass fix. Well done Mota and gang.

Ok, I was running MOTa's 2.0.9.2 i think previously and just decided to revert back to eclair and did a factory reset. Curious to try out the official Froyo.After doing so and conecting to KIES, I get "This version of the device cannot be updated" :S
Anyone? |

I tried to do an upgrade early this morning and I couldn't. My phone was previously running on mota's mod as stated earlier. So I tried my GF's phone which has never been flashed and she was able to receive the update.
I noticed one thing as to why I cannot update and maybe many of you as well. The pic below shows my version. I flashed back to Eclair using the firmware provided in dropbox as well as the ones you're able to download. Notice that mine says 'PDA:JG5' on my GF's phone it showed 'PDA:JH1'. I believe, thats the reason I can't update. I may be wrong tho This post has been edited by josenigel: Apr 26 2011, 10:37 AM |

QUOTE(aeroz_corp @ Apr 26 2011, 12:45 PM) ok cool. I tried the link you provided in replacing the registry but that was for Galaxy S so it didn't work. I tried replacing the registry to JH1, erm i meant JG5 but failed This post has been edited by josenigel: Apr 26 2011, 05:04 PM |

As mentioned before, I believe those who have previously tried out different mods and decided to flash back to eclair, it wont update. Not sure if the Eclair version we have Malaysian or not? Have a look at my post few pages back. Again, I may be wrong.
Anyway, I updated my GF's phone (stock Eclair from day 1) and tried it out. It's really not much. In my opinion Mota's mod is still way better. I will be switching back my G5 to Mota's mod once the newer one comes out Just my humble opinion This post has been edited by josenigel: Apr 27 2011, 06:08 PM |

[quote=alexysc,May 1 2011, 01:49 AM]
1) FAT32 2) EXT2 or EXT3 or EXT4 = not more than 2GB (I used 8GB sdcard and partitioned this as 988 MB) 3) Linux Swap = not more that 200MB (mine is 110MB) all must be PRIMARY. So I think your 2nd partition should also be about 988MB also because this rom doesn't use the internal memory of the phone. Instead it used this 2nd partition as internal memory and I got ++800MB as internal memory." Thank you This post has been edited by josenigel: May 1 2011, 12:28 PM |

I tried using the Mad Team Apps2SD partition tool as per the tutorial but after it reboots, it doesn't go into recovery mode. Any ideas as to why? And even after it reboots, my files in the SD card are still in it

QUOTE(curiouso9 @ May 1 2011, 10:04 PM) i never test 2.0.9.2.. it has sd speed tweaks. its not working for me . however just try 2.0.9 final. u will satisfied. aaaa. what not working josenigel? ok will probably revert back to that.i was trying the built in Apps2SD to partition the SD card but it doesn't work. it will say that it will reboot and to format after reboot but it's still the same. it doesn't even load into recovery mode. my files are still in the SD card even after formatting using the Mad Team App2SD.
