Good news for maybank credit card owner, you can get your samsung ace from senq start at RM39.54 per month for total 24 month installment.
Valid till 30 April 2011

It is the time I pay a visit to senq smile.gif
*
Not bad! RM39.54 x 24 = RM949.

Papago is a paid software. Try here, RM99 only:

been there.. done that.. even at full vol the notifications sound is hardly loud ... next try is gonna use wave file see if it have any diff from using mp3 files..
*
How are you placing your phone? I normally place it on top of a soft pouch on the table. Needless to say, can barely hear the sound becos the speaker is at the back and muffled by the pouch! Now I place it face down. Still not that loud, but better biggrin.gif

It IS a paid software. To ask for a copy without paying would mean piracy, and that could get you banned biggrin.gif

QUOTE(zakkiey @ Mar 23 2011, 12:57 AM)
Hi,

This is my first post here.

After failing to get an SGA in Lowyat and Pertama Complex last Friday, today i managed to get it in Kuantan Parade.

It cost me RM970..the cheapest i can find there. Some shops selling at RM1050..some selling at RM999.

Only three shops got ready stock. Samsung kiosk also don't have any stock left.

I'm not sure if the 2GB SD card is part of the package, but all shops offer it as free.

Now try to load Papago Map, but got caution message from the website saying it need at least 2GB free space. Is it true? If true, have to spend some money to change to bigger space (SD).

Anyhow, this is my first Android Phone (in fact, first smartphone)....so, i got a lot of stuff to learn.

Can any of you provide a link where i can learn more about this phone or Android (in general).

Thanks.
*
2GB is part of the package. Papago X5 on my SD after installation takes up 680MB. Malaysia map itself already 200MB+.

Too many resources on Android on the net. Just Google Android and you'll get tons of relevant links. For starters:

I want to run SetCPU and some screenshot apps, so I need to root my phone. What's the easiest and most painless way to root? Is there any danger in rooting? Thanks.

i did mine painlessly with superoneclick 1.7. just make sure you installed Kies first as it contains the driver.

/screengrab is built in in ACE. hold BACK + HOME.
guise? do we get charge by telco?? even when packet data is off but use wireless network is on?
*
The built-in screen grabber is not working in some apps smile.gif
You won't get charged by telco if you use wifi.

QUOTE(apitzhnu @ Mar 23 2011, 05:21 PM)
I think so... It's almost same with HTC Sense, which has no sense at all tongue.gif
*
HTC Sense is actually the UI name. For Ace, it's TouchWiz.

obviously i already turn on the GPS...maybe my version of papago x5 is the wrong one? the seller said he gave htc one...can anyone please PM me links for free papago x5? should i go to the samsung service center?
*
Coming from the 5800 where Garmin turns on the GPS automatically, I always forget to turn on GPS by myself on the Ace. Now used to it already. Turn on GPS -> start GPS Test -> locked -> close GPS Test -> start Papago.

Someone mentioned a Penang seller with RM900 Ace a couple of pages back.
QUOTE(yehlai @ Mar 25 2011, 02:09 PM)
That means you can change it to black one so it will loook like other black unit
*
But the side chrome is different between the white and black Ace. Or are there no white and black Ace anymore? Just 1 colour?

Buy Aria! Better build quality, resale value, and has HTC Sense UI!

Guys may I know what is the proper resolution for a picture to be set as homescreen wallpaper? Whenever I tried to set as wallpaper, the picture turns out to be pixelated.
I have tried 320 x 480 and other bigger sizes picture. When setting the size of the wallpaper I always drag the frame to max, is this the correct way to do it??
*
640 x 480 will be the optimum size. Drag the blue box to include the whole image. The OS will divide the wallpaper into the number of homescreens available for the scrolling smile.gif

With SE X10 now officially getting Gingerbread, Ace lost some appeal. I'd definitely go for X10 if I had not bought Ace. RM10xx for AP only... oh well...

My SGA drain battery quite fast.. not apps running in background but RAM usage always go back to 150+mb after i clear memory.. charging batt from 80% to 100% only takes 2-3 minutes?? =.=
*
When the battery icon shows full (and your battery widget if you have one), it's not really full yet. Leave the charger on until you see a 100% icon on the top left of the notification bar with notification sound.

QUOTE(apitzhnu @ Mar 28 2011, 05:26 PM)
Guys need help,

I have problem about sound when I on dial mode, yes they should have the sound when you dial number right?
I try to uncheck n check again on Setting - Sound - Audible Touch Tones, I also have tried to restart the phone, still da same thing happen?

Any help? Plss...
Should I need to send Samsung centre or just doing it by myself? sad.gif
*
Seems like you're doing it right. Ensure phone not in Silent mode. Maybe you need to send back to Samsung.

Price now drop to RM99 instead of RM 149
*
Actually what's the difference between Papago for Android Mobile and the others like Papago for Aria, Legend, etc? Ace has the same screen resolution.

This morning the Ace went totally dead although its connected to the charger. Rebooted and everything back to stock all settings & apps widgets etc gone.
Has anyone encountered that?

Wow auto-factory reset... hope it doesn't happen to me... but the only important things to me are my Notes and Contacts, which are sync-ed to the cloud anyway.

Ace so many problems huh hmm.gif
