I'm not sure how to explain it, but besides the lyrical theme... the sound/melody is seperable.
Death Metal usually have similar riffing with Thrash Metal, but often downtuned or using darker melodies, plus the grunting... makes it sound like grindcore but with more constructive pattern of drumming and guitar riffing.
Black Metal on the other hand often use simple fast drumming (how do u call it?), raspy eerie vocals, and anything besides the mentioned above.
couldn't find further info. all i can find was that she's a British singer, previously had a band called Dirty Harry (not the movie). Her real name is Victoria Harrison (a lot of ppl with that name).
I prefer The Crusade over Ascendancy... more thrashy than metalcore or whatever core it was. Maybe it's my preference, since I prefer thrash metal rather than those screaming type metal we have nowadays.
But musically, The Crusade wasn't good enough... as in... the riffs are kinda repetitive, but I'm impressed with the guitar solo work.
Sil Khannaz - Berdiri Antara Panji-Panji is seriously a very good metal album. I think you guys should hear it (for those who have not yet listen). Sound quality wise, I feel it's much-much better than previous albums. Musically wise, great guitars work... great lyrics, and Jaie's vox couldn't be better than ever.
Only the second last track "Teras Besi"... the lyrics kinda cheesy to me.
