ASIALINK CDS- how many of you guys buy cds distributed from asialink? what are the titles and where did you get them from?

ive only managed to get inflames - come clarity- dont see/hard to find cds from asia link in penang!

Megadeth - havent heard their new album- so dave mustaine is still singing? who are the new guitarists?

new album is set to be released in March, but there's a demo song called "Gears of War" available for download from their website. And also, there are videos of them performing another new track called "Washington's Next" on youtube.

Current line-up:
Dave Mustaine - vocals and guitars
Glen Drover - guitars (plays in Eidolon, a Canadian metal band)
James Lomenzo aka JLo (lolz!) - bass (played in Black Label Society, White Lion, etc)
Shane Drover - drums (Glen's brother, also Eidolon)

Kittie is coming out with new album as well.... next month. Based on the samples, personally I think they have better music arrangement and cleaner sound. Good metal riffs too.... just wonder if there's any solo on it.

KoRn is rock band, but the question regarding their music...I'd say it's Korn music and no other band can sound similar like them.

anyway....

i remembered searching for SABBAT on wiki and the info that i got was scary= i didnt know the andy sneap that was producing metal albums all these while was actually the same guy from sabbat!!!
Andy Sneap is mixing the next Megadeth's album which is "United Abomination".

QUOTE(xnobys @ Jan 22 2007, 12:59 PM)
bill steer is currently with his stoner rock band firebird. i think i had posted somewhere in this thread about firebird complete with downloadable song taken from their debut album.
there was somewhere mentioned that bill said metal music is for teenagers, thus he moved to play rock instead

p/s: Megadeth should get a Grammy this year whistling.gif

The last Soulfly album was fine ... which was the Dark Ages. The sound is more thrash-like downtuned guitars ala-Slayer.

But I still prefer classic thrash metal sound. Can't wait for United Abomination to release later this year...damn Mustaine really tease his fans.

"Metal needs a really good oldschool record again. I believe I have delivered. It ain't RIP2, but it could be the record that makes me forget about everything in-between." - Dave Mustaine

that's so true.... the world is totally lack of classic metal tunes for the past few years, except for the emergence of cheesy 'power metal' or the trendy 'goth metal' bands.

Dave Mustaine once quoted that the world nowadays lack the sound of classic metal.... classic, as in the old thrash/speed/heavy metal sound ....

somewhat it's quite true that new bands nowadays come out with grunts and screaming vocals...

...but worry no more, coz Megadeth will soon come out with United Abominations rclxm9.gif

Metallica can go with their 'rock and roll' laugh.gif

p/s: I believe since Load era (or was it the black album era), that Lars only refer themselves (Metallica) as a rock and roll band instead of metal.

QUOTE(silbii @ Mar 2 2007, 03:30 PM)
'fathulistiwa' is quite a weird album...but kinda refreshing to some extent...listened to only a few songs though

but early maggots is still weirder...haha...i actually do not know what sort of music these guys were playing those days...indsutrial grind metal or some sh*t like that...maybe it was just beautiful lo-fi noise...

danielwan - As was a johnny rotten wannabe - but in a cool way! hehe...gosh how i love to see them play Anarchy those days -

anyone dig Megadeth's Anarchy cover btw?
I dig anything from Megadeth...

Anarchy in the U.K.... from the album "So Far So Good... So What?" .... that's a great cover.

by the way.... Megadeth's new track called "Sleepwalker" is up for grab (FREE DOWNLOAD) from their official website rclxm9.gif

Nightwish is acceptable somehow... but I don't dig really dig 'em.

I have heard a lot of ppl were against Evanescence, claiming that they weren't metal. So for me... the same goes for Lacuna Coil or Within Temptation, ain't metal either.

But somehow you got the point... me not an Euro-Metal kinda fan ...lolz

A very surprising news!

Cristina Scabbia will sing some parts (like a duet I guess, with Dave Mustaine of course) for a new version of Megadeth's "A tout le Monde". The song was originally intended to be a B-sides for the "United Abomination" album (for Japan CD release)... but the guys at Roadrunner Records liked it and they wanted it to be in the official track listing.

And more surprising that it seems that the song will be the first single for Megadeth's UA and they're making a music video for it! rclxm9.gif
