anyone heard the new Devin Townsend record - really sounds weird (the way the music is arranged-one time it sounds like pop and then it's metal the next), i like his work with Strapping Young Lad (Alien album was good) and this guy is quite a musician too (produced albums for Soilwork,Lamb of GOd,etc), even played for Vai on one of his albums (and Vai contributes a solo in this new album)

It's more of a cross between Clayman with dibs on R2R and Jester Race. The guitar work ain't that complex (sounds like trash metal imo) but the melodic tunes of the older albums can be found in many tracks. I haven't listened it many times yet so I can't comment on individual tracks, but my favs are:

Reflect The Storm
Crawl Through Knives
Versus Terminus
Our Infinite Struggle
Your Bedtime Story is Scaring Everyone

Come Clarity has been leaked over the Internet about a month before i think, if u have Streamyx and use BT, then u'll know what I'm talking abt, I was too lazy to write a review anyway, but anyway my fav tracks on it are Take This Life,Leeches,Crawl Through Knifes,Dead End, i feel the instrumental track is not really that interesting (their Man-Made God instrumental track is the best smile.gif )
Overall i like this album better than STYE (altho i still think My Sweet Shadow is a good track smile.gif )

p/s:I saw the 19.90 Clayman album in CM, but it looked like a pirated version (the printing doesn't seem to be clear),I remember buying Shadows Fall War Within for the same price a few months ago & tat wasn't original either (but the distributor is different)

hmm, where do u live? i saw both of the recent 2 albums (Rosenrot and Reise,Reise) in music stores in Kota Raya and CM..Rammstein not that hard to find the albums lah smile.gif

yeah, they're gothic/opera style of metal is awesome..got 2 know them after listening to 'wish i had an angel'..all of their songs are to my liking thumbup.gif ...but i REALLY wonder how it's gonna be now that she has left...if it's a new female vocalist also dunno if she can carry tarja's high pitch (or watever they refer to it as) voice :|

juz watched the pain of salvation DVD..quite interesting music there..sounds like a mix of opeth,paradise lost,dream theatre and even has influences of death metal i think..

yea..i wud say this album is good..all the tracks are worth listening to repeatedly..i heard that they are using double-harmonic style of playing (vocalist and guitarist) and i really like the solo on Like Light to Flies thumbup.gif ....one downside i feel is that Matt's voice when he is screaming isn't decent..maybe he should try improving it or stop it.
