According to the flyer that they (Sony people i think) gave after the Kreator concert, it said that it will come out along with the new Chimaira and Soulfly. It even said they're going to release some old titles as well.

Which of course is just a bunch of horse poo. I've been waiting for the Chimaira for the past 2 months. sad.gif
*
the new Chimaira album is quite a fresh breath (xcept for Mark Hunter's vocals-always the same biggrin.gif ), since all the songs feature a guitar solo- thumbup.gif , sumthing they never did previously i believe

i just listened to Opeth - Ghost Reverie... excellent album!!! their heavy stuffs got heavier, and the mellow parts got more beautiful. michael ackerfelt sure is an excellent musician.

it's like listening to a metal version of Pink Floyd and Tool!
*
yup, agree with you, Ghost Reveries is quite an enchanting album, but sometimes the riffs sound repetitive but i like their acoustic breakdowns and one song has a middle-eastern type of opening riffs/intro to it,nice feel thumbup.gif

i just watched the music video for Trivium - Gunshot To The Head. Matthew Heafy DOES have that Hetfield style with him... the way he holds his guitar, his physical gestures...

but he looks too 'jambu' for a metal frontman heheh... in fact, all of them look like some punk band members.

luckily they have excellent solos or else they'll sound like most metalcore bands. i might find this album spinning in my cd player for quite some time!
*
i read a few metal mags and they are labelling Trivium as the next Metallica if they release a few more albums like the one they have now. The hype on this band is quite high currently but i think Metallica is quite different compared to Trivium (well for one i dun think Hetfiedl ever sang growling type of vocals in their songs) but music wise, the dual-solos in Trivium i dun think was there in Metallica tunes

hah same with me man! i have to listen to an album repeatedly for my brain to register the sound, arrangement, good parts etc...

i remember the cassette days where you can't easily skip tracks. i would listen to the whole album with the cassette inlay in my hands to read the lyrics. i'd do that constantly till the songs get stuck in my head.

and i enjoyed the music even more at that time...
*
hahah, very true, i did that last time too, now with broadband and a huge amount of albums, i dun think i can remember how half the songs in my winamp playlist go but nevertheless i am still discovering new music everyday biggrin.gif... have take it slowly........ cool.gif

Any power metal fans here? I just heard the new promo of Dragonforce's latest album; "Inhuman Rampage". You guys should give it a listen. The guitars are catchy and the bass lines rox. Head banging!
*
dragonforce... i think i heard a few songs from them, i like Hammerfall too (they r powermetal too rite? ), like the songs HammerFall, Blood Bound, Always Will Be, Hearts On Fire.. , they have the same concept like Dragonforce too i suppose catchy chorus and all the fantasy (dragon, knights in shining armour,etc.. biggrin.gif ) kinda lyrics

btw listening to God Forbid's new album , damn they have some good melodic parts engulfed in all the heaviness thumbup.gif , and any of u metalheads heard of Lacrimosa ? swedish gothic metal band tat sings in german (i think...), awesome band i shud say, and the way the song is composed (the songs all have a classical symphony/music kinda arrangement) is really different from other Gothic bands (the ones i've heard so far)

i haven't listened through all the songs yet, but one particular song that i like is In the Fire sung by King Diamond. cheesy high-pitched screams, but the song gets 'melekat' in my head biggrin.gif my wife hates the song though, she says it's like some kiddie song hahah
*
liked the 'The End', 'Dagger','Rich Man' and tat King Diamond track well hahaha, his vocals memang like that one, sum ppl can really hate tat type of vocals (tat reminds me i think 3 inches of blood the vocalist sings like tat) but i find it ok biggrin.gif

Hey how cone no one ever comment on new S.O.A.D album HYPNOTIZE ??

Bought mine last week.....prefer Mesmerize than Hypnotize excluding other releases.
*
i commented on this album in the Rock thread smile.gif, yeah I prefer Mezmerize over Hypnotize too, i feel the songs in this album are more forgettable than the previous one.

by the way, In Flames new album 'Come Clarity' will be accoompanied with a DVD feturing them playing all the songs in the album in a rehearsal room (just like wat James Hetfield and Co. did with St.Anger), well i hope this album sees them back to their roots, but then again I became a fan when i heard 'Trigger' (and that album did not go down well with the old fans smile.gif )

yeah...as usual...sumbody has got to keep the 'church-burning,anti-christianity,devil-worshipping' doh.gif bands from our country, total dumbassess...there are 101 better things to worry about and they will always have to worry abt this. I saw the article in NST and i laughed at wat tat Idris guy had to say abt Mayhem, "Mayhem encourages its followers to worship the devil and burn churches", now I've nvr listened to mayhem's songs but I think this phrase has been overused a DAMN too many times in labelling metal bands....

I seriouls hope that this doesn't stop Metal bands from coming into this country!!!

ur right about Trivium, i just can't stop headbanging & play air guitar everytime i listen to 'Like Light To Flies' (luv the solo in it too! ), hope they will maintain this heaviness and melodyness (maybe improving in vocals) for upcoming albums thumbup.gif

anybody heard about this ( regard it as a source of entertainment) :
Police bust black metal concert

QUOTE
BY AUDREY EDWARDS

SEREMBAN: Cops busted an alleged black metal concert held at a hall here and rounded up 105 youths.

The group had used the name of Persatuan Cekak Silat to apply for a permit to hold a show at an association hall here.

However, they allegedly turned it into a black metal concert and danced away for more than five hours on Saturday before the police arrived to put a stop to it.

It was learnt that the police had information that the organisers were carrying out activities that were against Islam and had planned to end their performance with a satanic worship session and sex.

However, District OCPD Asst Comm Hasanuddin Hassan said initial investigations did not indicate activities that broke the law or went against the religion.

"The raid was carried out to ensure the group did not break the law," he said, adding that the police also carried out urine tests on concert-goers.

The organisers of the show at the Negri Sembilan Ceylonese Association hall had also allowed the concert to go beyond the allocated time.

The police raided the place at 8.20pm and rounded up several youths, including four women, aged between 20 and 30 years old.

Some of them, it was learnt had come from as far as Singapore and Perlis.

ACP Hasanuddin said 30 youths had tested positive for drugs and three persons were handed over to the state religious department on suspicions they had committed acts contrary to Islam.

Source

the funny part, they registered as Persatuan Cekak Silat doh.gif biggrin.gif , i guess black metal concerts now have to be hosted undercover...anyway there was drug abuse and if the source is to be trusted..."they were going to have a Satanic worshipping session and sex"..WTF??

a continuation of the previously entertaining news

QUOTE
Malaysia's New Straits Times is reporting that three Singaporean men were charged in the magistrate's court on Thursday (Dec. 8) for using drugs during a "black metal" concert in Seremban, Malaysia last Saturday (Dec. 3).

Two of them, Abdul Malik Abdul Aziz, 34, from Apartment Block 36, South Avenue, and Mohamed Rosni Kadir, 32, from Block 114, Bedok North, claimed trial.

The third person, Azhar Ali, 24, from Apartment Block 669 Damai Road, pleaded guilty.

They were charged with using methamphetamine at the district police station between 8pm and 11pm on Dec. 3.

Chief Inspector E. Saroja prosecuted. Magisrate Suhaila Haron set bail at RM2,000 with one surety pending mention on Dec. 29.

New Straits Times reported on Sunday that police detained 105 youths, including four women, believed to be followers of black metal music at a hall in Jalan Sungai Ujong.

The youths, mostly in their 20s, were from Seremban and other places, including Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Hasanudin Hasan, who confirmed the arrests, said police received a report at 2pm of a group of people with "suspicious and violent" behaviour in the hall.

"We monitored the situation and found there were activities of a violent nature going on in the hall. We decided to detain the youths at 8.20pm," he said.

Hasanudin said the group cooperated with the police and did not resist arrest.

He, however, refused to divulge the exact nature of the activities held in the hall.

Thirty of those detained, including three from Singapore, tested positive for drug use.

Three youths were referred to the State Religious Affairs Department for counselling while the others were released after their statements were taken.

hmm, so they DID find drugz...police get report at 2pm and respond at 8.20 pm ???WTF??and they dun wan 2 divulge the exact nature of the activities?? (drinking goat's blood, massive sex orgy going on ar?)

p/s: those Singapore dudes tat tested positive for drugs, can we send them back home to be hanged ? tongue.gif (since Singapore hanged tat Aussie dude 4 drug possesion)
