Any reason why you guys did not wait for Sony E Neo where its specs it's "better" than Samsung SL - despite SE phones have the potential of slow OS updates. Thanks.

Bought 2 of these babies a few days back (1 for myself, 1 for my wife) and so far I love it! wub.gif
Really nice screen and speed compared to my old htc artemis and n97.

There's some issues with GPS not working at all in the beginning, but I tried the suggestions here on my wife's phone and it works. All I did was:

Disable ‘Use Wireless Networks’ under Settings ---> Location and Security
Go into LbsTestMode (*#*#3214789650#*#*)
Go to Application Settings ---> Enable MS-Based Mode (Operation Mode )
Increase Accuracy to 100
Tested the GPS using the Get Position test.

That's it, tried it in my car and location was locked in less than 30 seconds this hazy morning!

Hi, im a newbie in here.

Got question for those who bought this galaxy SL from SenQ/SenHeng.

1. Hp from SenQ/Senheng original set from SME?
2. If got problem can send it to any Samsung Service center?
3. Did the SenQ/SenHeng activate e-waranty registration?

I already survey in mudah, lelong (but not in garage), price around 1200-1300, seller claim original set from SME. But when i ask about e-waranty, their respons dissapointed, some seller donno anything about e-waranty and some of them said they can't activate e-waranty registration via SMS. They told me to register waranty through samsung website or send waranty card manually to samsung. So how come? Overall seller i called/sms said tht they cannot activate e-waranty via SMS.

I also called Samsung 1800, they said register through samsung waranty registration website & activate waranty through SMS by Seller/Shop got different. Any comment on this?

What i know about e-waranty is seller/shop will activate waranty through SMS. Seller/shop will send information such as Buyers name & hp no, date purchase, IMEI no and special code (for shop/seller) to Samsung. After few days, buyer will receive confirmation SMS from Samsung said that new handphone already registered or for those who get lucky Samsung will call u directly.

Hi guys, sorry for late reply, there is three main requirements in doing this:
- A ROOT device
- Installed Root Explorer in ur phone
- download this file (vold.fstab**)from http://www.zshare.net/download/8986737040669e60/

After u have meet all the requirements above, here's the steps:
1) Off ur handphone
2) Unmount the micro sd card from your phone, put into card reader
3) Copy the vold.fstab** downloaded just now to your mico sd card.
4) Remove ur micro sd & plug inside ur phone again.
5) Turn on ur phone
6) Open Root Explorer
7) Go to /system/etc folder, copy "vold.fstab" from that folder, then go to /sdcard/external_sd, paste the "vold.fstab" inside any folder.
8) Then copy the vold.fstab** from the /sdcard/external_sd
9) Go back to /system/etc folder, then paste the vold.fstab** inside to replace the "vold.fstab"
10) Restart ur phone, job done.

P/S: I will not responsible if anything goes wrong, please do it at ur own risk, the step 7 above is to keep the original file from the phone, just in case in future time u wana return ur phone storage into initial stage.

i bought from senheng...but when asked about warranty, the staff told me to sent back to senheng for warranty claim...i got 3 years warranty (register as membership) & got rebate RM100 for the hp price, so total RM1299-RM100(rebate)+RM12(membership) = RM1211.

Ok now my phone can finally can get gps location lock.

Here's what i did:

Go into Lbstestmode
- undo all settings to original
- then press 'Delete GPS data'

Reboot phone.

Get out from building.
Go into Lbstestmode and press 'Get Position Test'.
Wait and phone detects satelite one by one.
After sometime, it will timeout. press 'Get Position Test' to restart test again.
Repeat until it can identify your position, at this time, it detected 7-9 satelites.
For me the whole process took about ten minutes.

Run more tests, and it only took about ten seconds to lock position.

Sorry guys I was busy recently, I have tested this method by raylon with few units of Galaxy SL and it works. I will post this method to the home page of this thread. Well done raylon rclxms.gif
