well..i'm one of passenger lor ! Really drama that night ...sigh* talk about bad luck.Oh I remember MR Chew.He was the guy who walked over and said " WHAT a joke ! No pilot and crews now ! ". I really lost my patience at that moment and said loudly ' WHAT THE HELL?' ..

So guys...travel AA @ ur own risks sweat.gif Hopefully not 'sueh' like me...

waa.. a 10hrs delay.. that sucks!!

my trip in 2009 also got delay. I took MAS and the flight was suppose to be at 11am from Incheon. Since it was on Wednesday the MAS flight will stopover at KK and then to KL. a lot of Korean went on golf tour to KK. the 1st announcement - delay to 2PM. MAS gave us meal coupon and then they said delayed till 1AM. the korean stated creating havoc at the boarding gate. lots of shouting and looked like one of their parliament session.. hehe.. anyway, security guards were called and unlike our police, their security guard were built up like bouncers.. they didn't do anything, just line up only but the korean immediately tone down their voices. luckily, they gave us hotel to rest.

but one thing I learnt about frequently flying with AA is not to expect anything except for the cheap ticket or else i ended makan hati.. If you got extra budget, do check other airlines, if budget ciput like me, AA is the only one.

Anybody try Asiana from KK?

Air Busan seats way much better than AAX

I stayed in Bangrang before. It was all good! Location is good as it is very near to mrt. Just 2 minutes walk away, maybe a minute.
I only paid 18k won per person for dorm for 2. (common bathroom)
My friends are currently staying in Bangrang now. They find it good too!
Me will stay in Namsan Guesthouse 2 tomorrow until next Thursday (6th Oct). Approximately 19k won per person with attached bathroom.

rm300 woh. Can use it to makan seafood at busan or sokcho.. Hmmm ask ask makan raw seafood will be best at sokcho or busan?? tongue.gif

I managed to change @ 2.84 from Aqmar Interchange (the money changer right next to Maybank at Sungai Wang) 2 days ago.
Or if you cannot find it, it's right at the entrance of Bangunan Yayasan Selangor. Haha. I always go to this place for lowest rate. Better than Wawasan I believe.
Tel No: 2144 4225 (Imran)
The rate should remain the same in a day or 2.
While the others (those whole lots in front of BB plaza) is around 2.87

i've asked the same question like urs b4. smile.gif mostly 900won coz their subway is calculated based on distance.. no matter how many stations u transfer or change,as long as its within 10km?12km? ( i forget dy sweat.gif ) the fare will be 900won..if u travel beyond certain distance, the fares will become more expensive.

take Incheon airport to dongdaemun for an example, the distance is very far therefore 4k+ won.

Thanks for reply guys smile.gif . I got some more question. If for example i am from myeongdong(line4) going to yeouido(line5), i will need to transfer line at Dongdaemun History culture park station to Line 5 right. So does it mean at myeongdong i need to buy ticket to Dongdaemun history culture park or straight buy ticket to yeouido?

Need help! icon_question.gif

I'm travelling to Korea in early Nov and I'd like to Naejangsan after 2 days in Jeju.

I found from Eastarjet that they have flight from Jeju to Gunsan which in the same state as Naejangsan.

However, I've not seen any post mentioning about this route.
I'm thinking of Jeju -> Gunsan -> Naejangsan -> Damyang/JeonJu -> Seoul.

Is this a good idea?

Appreciate some advice so i could finalize my itinerary and book the tickets.
Thanks!

Hi fashiondo,

You dont need to buy ticket at Dongdaemun History Culture Park station. Korea subway system is not like Malaysia's LRT. In Malaysia, if you change line, you need to buy a new ticket.

When you reach Dongdaemun History Culture Park station, dont scan out. Follow the sign boards and walk to Line 5. Board on line 5 to Yeouido. When you reach Yeouido, scan out and exit the station.

Hi, i'm a college student right now and now my college was offering a study trip to Korea(Seoul) from 26thDec11 until 1st of Jan 2012. But the price that shown is around RM5000 and they say that the price guarantee won't more than 5K la and its included all the stay, meals and Skiing. At first, my friends and I was so excited cause its the very first time that offer in college and all my friends discussing whether go anot. End up there is only 1 of my friend want to go and she asked me to go along and i asked my mum and she say yes as well.

So i gave the deposit. And now the problem is I heard a lot people(relative, sis and friends) saying that the study trip is too pricey cause they say now korea trip is just need around (2-3k) and you will get to there. So am wondering, isit really true? Rm5000 and RM2-3000 is so much different! Should i cancel or its really worth to go? People, please help me! Or whoever sure the price for the Korea trips. rclxub.gif

Thanks!

Let's put it this way, I'm speaking from experience.

1. The flight ticket alone is about (depending on airline) RM1.5-2.5K alone. You may Google this yourself, visit MAS, Aseana, KoreanAir, AirAsia, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific website. They all fly to Korea from Malaysia (might be a few others) - pay close attention to their pricing structure, flight schedule, etc. You will see - some offer cheap tickets but it'll take you 2 days to reach Korea coz you need to transit for 1 night elsewhere. In the example of AirAsia - cheap ticket but arrive @ 9.45pm in Korea, you'll waste the 1st day travelling coz don't tell me you can go sightseeing anymore if you arrive that late. By the time you reach town and cleared customs, it's a good 1 1/2 hour later.

2. You are going during peak season where everything is expensive, especially the accommodation. Try going any developed country in this world and you'll feel the prices during this period. BTW, Hotels in Korea can range between RM300-RM1000++ per night during normal period and prices jump during peak period.

3. I have only mentioned flight ticket and accommodation. There's your meal, local logistics (e.g bus, don't tell me you intend to walk to the airport and everywhere), skiing costs and tour guide fees to factor in.

RM5000K sounds kindof right ... I believe your trip is being arranged by a tour agency and someone need to make money as well from assisting and arranging the logistics.

Probably the people advising you on the prices have no experience flying to Korea nor have any understanding of the real world costs in Korea - you may ask them "Have you gone to Korea?" or bought the so called RM2-3K package themselves. Even if you were to get the cheapest ticket during promotions, it'll be about RM1.5-RM1.8K (calculate including of airport taxes, fuel surcharges, etc) Accommodations will set you around the same amount as well - at the cheapest price, you are likely to get a dorm of sort sort shared with a lot of people.

Quick & dirty calculations - it'll set you about RM3.6K~RM4K before factoring in your meals, skiing, local travelling, skiing costs & tour guide fees. And be careful of shoestring tours which many customers ends up fuming. RM2-3K to travel to Korea ? Quite impossible

Good luck on your decision making!

5k for the trip seems quite cheap to me. You are gonna travel at the most peak period of the year (Christmas and New Year!) so I honestly think it's cheap if you ask me.

I never heard college become tour operator but yes, RM5k is definitely expensive. The most expensive would be in CNY cos like Chinese, Koreans celebrate their New Year on the same date as the Chinese.

Try to enquire more details on the tour operator name and itenary. That would provide some clues whether or not you should join. If this is a luxury tour organized by Apple Holiday or Reliance, maybe its worth it.

im having academic trip to s.korea as well this november. we estimated rm3000 for flight+accomodation+tour agent fees for 3 days. this is excluding meals. so as the others are saying, yours might be expensive because of peak season smile.gif

Anywhere in the world their train system is like that. HK, Singapore, Australia, Japan, UK, Europe. You only need 1 ticket to travel. Only change the train link and terminal unlike Malaysia. Our train system so lousy rclxub.gif
