seriously, even B-Line Exora ald a fuel guzzler....alot of my fren said....come 2 think of the H-Line with additional accessories = more weight add ons...hw would u think of it?? some claim Exora B-line RM50 for only 2xx kilometres....
I think Rexton will b better choice, coz MPV Exora is seriously underpowered....when full load especially.. |

QUOTE(ahK @ Mar 4 2011, 08:04 AM) It's better if you're getting an used unit, but make sure everything is in good condition.A new ones probably doesn't justify with the value depreciation of the car. I will go for Rexton over the Exora anytime. Spacious and comfort than a Exora, that's what i want in a SUV. But underpowered also lah both car. haha |

buying exora and say it's fuel consumption so high, if rm50 for 200+ km, i would say it's a steal for a normal sized mpv....can tell me how much alza can go with rm50 and it's small body? it would be 200+ also...
if cant afford the luxury, then just bear with smaller car. like rexton, it's better than exora in any way. But do u really needed it and think it's take and ride without doing some so called normal maintenance for rexton (major maintenance for proton) ??? if u got budget and dun really care about the fuel, get a used or new harrier....engine is not bad, fuel is ok and car is comfort. ride more or less same class with all suv and luxury mpv. Added on March 4, 2011, 2:48 pmthe only prob in getting a car is the maintenance..if u cant maintain urself, find a easier to maintain 1 to save the hassle...even if u rich to waste the money, dun forget about the time and effort too This post has been edited by howiechoo: Mar 4 2011, 02:48 PM |

MPV will only save fuel if u know to drive it correctly
LIke my case i have 2 driver driving the same car (avanza auto 1.3) if i drive full tank is abt 450-500km for 40L if another driver sure stuck at 350-400km only I know my car is underpower so i nvr push it hard i take my time to accelerate slowly and maintain stable speed compare to another driver who drive it like sedan style and always accelerate and slow down ==! |

QUOTE(victor87 @ Mar 3 2011, 07:47 PM) Owned a RX290 Rexton. You are right. Parts are expensive because SC is charging 2X~3X highers. With RextonHub established, we have direct contact with parts wholesaler and parts supplier, locally or from Korea directly. Parts isn't that EXPENSIVE if you know where to source from. Even authorized SC is trying to cutting off their customer throat, what more for those outside local spare parts shop?? Been went through overhaul the gearbox by authorized SC for 3 fcking times, end up buying a clutch plate worth RM68 (expensive lah) and got it replace by my own worker in my own workshop.. Been serving me so far so good, at least until now. Fuel consumption wasn't that bad neither, a good full tank could get me at least 550KM, assume that i only drive 20KM away from my living area to my office. Added on March 3, 2011, 7:49 pmAdd ons: By the way, i do not recommend getting a Rexton. As what howie said, good luck with Rexton. I have 2 friend own the same car, same model as mine. One of them do not have any transmission problem like me and another friend of mine do. Good news is, he's clocking almost 350k KM on his Rexton already, he's travel quite a distance weekly (Chemor > KL > Chemor > KL) Most of the common problem are caused by poor maintenance and wrong diagnosis done by inexperienced workshop that do not have the right tools, skills and experience with such luxury SUV, just like not every workshop can handle Mercs. RX270XDI has much better FC that can easily get 600km with RM120 fuel on city drive and 700~750km on highway drive within legal speed limit. With ever increasing price of petrol, the FC is as cheap as sedan. Currently, we are active at http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?showforum=117 but will be migrating to our own forum at RextonHub.com soon. Can post any questions or issues related to Rexton there, we have Technical Advisor and a group of active owners interacting actively. But the best choice is RX270XDI that has higher torque, much refined than older model, better FC, newer engine and transmission. Test drive one or read our forum to know more details. Added on May 31, 2011, 2:45 am QUOTE(shinnosuke @ Mar 3 2011, 07:02 PM) I have tested drive Exora last year when it was launched not long. To avoid being labeled as biased, I suggest those interested buyers to test drive in following condition1. Get 5 adults + 2 kids (that's what 7 seaters MPV meant for) on board. Try to time the acceleration from 0 ~ 50kmh, see if you can get within 8 sec. 2. Then cruise at 80kmh and try to push to 120kmh, time the acceleration and RPM that you getting. The higher RPM you get will be higher the FC. With these 2 simple and basic test, you will know if the car is underpower or not. Can test on any straight flat road, don't need to climb hill or with heavy luggages or 7 adults. Only RX290 need to pump ATF from under carriage but if you have the right tools, it is not that hard. This is the same for lots of older diesel engine too. Yes, RM20~RM30 is nothing, but i am someone who take good care of my car, i'd rather do everything myself than sending to workshop i am not familiar. Had bad experience with one of the authorized SC, sent my Rexton for servicing while it's still new & under warranty, get my car in with everything at working condition, get out with my RHD electronic side mirror malfunctioning. Questioned but denied it is their fault, well, i can't say a thing because i never witness a thing myself since they don't allow customer to enter their workplace. Parts from so called authorized dealer is expensive. Marked up at least 30~40% compare to spare parts shop who sells the same genuine parts. Automatic transmission of the RX290 was a b**** to maintain, went through overhaul for 2 times by SC, yes, it worked, and it only last for a year per overhaul done. Give up on their so called "skill" and rely on my own and my worker. Added a few clutch plate which cost less than RM80 between the gaps, it solved all the transmission problem, at least for 4 years till now. Only disadvantage is no more smooth gear changing, but better than the transmission f#cked up in the middle of road/freeway. I don't blame the SC, but once you understand how the transmission was designed to function, you'd really get pissed. Engine from Merc is robust and good, no problem at all despite it's making near 200,000KM mark, only thing is underpowered (it doesn't matter much since we bought this SUV for comfort and can fetch loads of person on board). Fuel consumption is considered good too. Will i ever buy a Ssangyong in future: Hell NO ! Just point out my view on this RX290 which my family owned one, never owned an 270 so can't give much comment. This is a forum, i guess we have the freedom to give our POV based on our ownership. |
