Ed - 30mm or 35mm better ? Or perhaps 85mm?

Feel like hauling and testing a prime now.

Already spent time reading Albert's review on the 30mm. Awesome lol.

Ahpingko not to pour cold water on you but most, if not all f2.8 lenses, under above average lighting conditions, with an averagely accurately calibrated body, usually have very sharp centers.

And unless you blow ur f2.8 shots to full resolution, it will appear to be sharp across the plane of focus( provided ur shots meet the conditions above).

My noob 2 cents.  blush.gif

My statement applies to the good lenses only. Those slr magic lenses do not count. tongue.gif

oh i see...i dont know ma..never had a try on any of those F2.8 lens..recently jz bought 1..haha..i just love all my lenses... laugh.gif

love the way u processed them...  nice thumbup.gif
it is a M39 rangefinder lens...  the optics are superb....  i'm using a M39-M42 ring to mount it on my M42 adapter....
u r right about the infinity....  the infinity now focus @ around 5 meters but once stop down to f11 u'll get infinity biggrin.gif
*
Thx bro..seldom hear u say like my pics.. tongue.gif ..this must be quite some awesome level to make u say nice..xD

Btw, recently i found that i prefer using live view and MF..lol..ppl say use LV not professional enuf.. doh.gif but somehow i like it..especially when i m shooting portraits..kinda like giving me more accurate framing and lighting views..dono how to explain..

I tend to use MF coz my camera sometimes giving inaccurate focus lock..nt sure why.. hmm.gif

ieR : Yes. Agreed with you that usually one light is enough. 2 lights and you can cover most things. 3 lights and you can get very creative.

One tip for those of you shooting outdoors and have at least one external flash and a body with a pop-up flash:

You can easily maintain details in the sky by just metering for the sky and then lighting up you subject via wireless flash. You can get dramatic lighting effects too!
*
this i trying to achieve too...during outdoor shooting...but how can i do that?..let say i meter the sky..iso 200 F11 1/2000...my F42 at 1/1 doesnt seemed like got any feel..lol...how to achieve it?.. hmm.gif hmm.gif

busy lately, else my blog for learning photography would be at least 10% complete... now still 0.5% lol
*
oh?..mind to explain further?..i m glad to learn from mistake if u can tell me my mistake.. blush.gif ..i just know my flash got HSS..so i just assume it can sync over any speed..lol...please enlight me.. brows.gif

Shootkk, for this (shooting outdoors with wireless flash) do u think it's better to on the DRO or off it?  hmm.gif

i normally shoot with DRO OFF..i found it useless...most of the time make my picture looked weird..xD..

iER: your answer never fail to impress me..lol..i m trying my best to learn my basic flashing..but my flash defective..lol..i will start serious flashing after it is repaired..somehow, now i m blasting with high power, eg 1/1,1/4,1/8 and cater the overpower with my shutter speed at HSS..if not, i langsung cant use that flash...pop up flash do much better than it..albert say my F42 somehow cant sync to my camera..flash need to calibrated or something..

Either that or your flash hot shoe got problem. Then u might have to change the whole top part which could cost few hundred
If no warranty.
*
still got long warranty...bought flash last sept...xD..

QUOTE(ieR @ Mar 16 2011, 06:08 PM)
if really sync issue, then ur circuit board inside the flash has to change, it will take some time to ship a unit from sg/hk.

wait, even u blast at 1/1, if u shoot at shutter 1/2000, the flash has to blast around 8 times... so what happen is, 1/1 divide by 8, u get around 1/8 power fired at 1/2000 sync speed. so what u actually is getting is 1/8 at 8 burst at 1/2000 sec!

also, the distance of flash to subject affect the amount of light that reach your subject.... (flash fallout) so, further your flash, the weaker the light~ nearer your flash, more light u get. smile.gif
*
got blast so many times meh??..i only see blast once.. rclxub.gif

most macro lenses would be able to work well up to macimum of F16.0. Above that, diffraction will start showing and the photos will become soft. Bob Atkins wrote a rather technical explanation (with photos) on diffraction here:

http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/techn...iffraction.html

Go read it up and get dizzy.....  rclxub.gif
