QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Mar 1 2011, 12:29 AM)
GUYS:

kinda urgent question...

im in tassie right now (Tasmania) and the weather is really cold.

--> http://www.weather.com.au/tas/hobart

Should I REALLY get a dry box or will it still be okay to just keep my camera as i did in Malaysia?

THANKS!
*
Yo mike! How is tassie? I assume its awesome! My advice is check out the humidity in hobart, you can find out this information at any weather report website. If the humidity is high >60-70% then you'll need a dry box I guess... The humidity in Adelaide is really low, so I don't store my camera in a dry box. Do bring your lenses out in sunshine once in awhile as the UV will kill any fungus which tries to grow on your lens. icon_rolleyes.gif

that depends, are you bringing out, at least once a week, or once every 3 days, or just letting it lie on your table for one month?

Want to share one photo with you guys:

This photo was shot at the Mengkabong Bridge, which runs across the Mengkabong river here in Sabah. It was threatening to rain, with light drizzle coming down already. But, it never happened. Instead, the heavens began to clear up and I got this shot of the cloud curtains beginning to unfold itself:

I was so lucky to get this shot. Some of you guys might had already seen this photo either in my facebook or my flickr page. But I thought I wanna share it with the rest of you guys who haven't seen it yet. wink.gif

King's College by tanjq87, on Flickr

The notorious King's College at the University of Cambridge. This was shot near the Cam river pathway back in September 2010. It was an overcast day and was drizzling. The original version was lack of colour punch due to the weather, so I converted this shot to portray the Gothic feel as it was built in 15th century.

OMG? You sure its 94%? Its even more humid than malaysia! From the website you posted I saw the humidity is only 70% during rainy days and 50% on normal days. I don't think you'll need it. Why don't you go and ask around the camera shops in Hobart? I'm sure the locals are much more familiar with the weather than I am. =)

p.s. Hobart is very laidback, lotsa tourist hikers. And if you plan to travel, go to port arthur, tasmazia and bridgestowe lavander farm (largest lavender farm in the world) and also cradle mountain. I find these places are extremely photogenic. Haha!

sham,
from ur pix,..
i can see the KM17-35 f2.8-4 are identical to the SAL11-18 / KM11-18 in terms of corner softness..both lens share the same structure and the same hood..the KM17-35 act different on APSC in term of corner sharpness, but in FF,we can see the softness at corners..

now need to buy 16-35cz for landscape if ur on FF.. rclxub.gif
