Ola fellow SGS owner!!

After a few month using Darky's v8.0 Gingerbread Edition, I want to flash to a newer version with hope of a better battery life.

Any suggestion?

Thanks for the advice ( in advance ).

Cheers!

Darkys v8.0? Wa, it's so ancient. smile.gif
The later versions r smoother n snappier but the battery life is not much better.

hi all... newbie for samsung galaxy s here...just want to ask, is it "root" same as apple jail break ? beside that, if we fail in flash new rom, is it possible to re-flash again ? sorry so many question...
*
Rooting will give you "administrator" access. So, it's the same thing as jailbreaking an iphone. It's just that we can do a lot more after after rooting an android phone because it is an open platform.

QUOTE(JynoRip @ Mar 21 2011, 12:21 PM)
thanks andrain
beside that, is there any solution to download the original rom ? so scare to root the new device...worry the warranty void... @.@
*
Like kh cheah said, can revert to stock firmware. Rooting and flashing custom rom will only temporarily recede the warranty. After you flash to stock rom, samsung customer service won't know what kind of hacks you did to your phone.

I recommend sweethoney. 2.7 version is going to be released soon.

Added on March 21, 2011, 4:05 pmLifehacker.com features this contact sharing app via vcard that I have mentioned a few pages back.

But I also learned that you can do the same if you use handcent sms app.

You need to install a custom rom first before you can change themes.

Rooting is not required before flashing a custom rom. But if you root first, then you can backup all data and apps and have them restored when you finished flashing a custom rom. If backing up apps are not important, then you can skip rooting.
