Well, putting speedmod kernel on didn't fix the FCs, but it was a kernel that I was more familiar and comfortable with. Of course, had to Titanium restore those apps that FC'ed on me to get things working again.

yes SGS II is definitely breath taking.
but I won't abandon my SGS. too many sweet and bitter memories!
BTW, what's the fastest rom with JS7 as base?
I'm on Doc's 9.8 and it lags occasionally.
I've read that Simply Galaxy 2.5.1 got some issues and the rom maker is investigating and fixing it.

- sgs got a really beautiful super amoled screen. you need to see in person to see how beautiful it is. dhd has a slightly bigger screen but at the same resolution as sgs, thus lower dpi. if you got big hands, no problem handling dhd
- sgs has plastic body, unlike dhd. you might feel sgs feels cheap.
- however, sgs has gorilla glass which is scratch resistant. I put both my keys and sgs in the same pocket everyday for 7 months. still no single scratch. dhd doesn't have gorilla glass but i'm sure it is scratch resistant as well, just not gorilla glass.
- out of the box, sgs lags badly after one week of use. updating to stock 2.2.1 or even better, flashing to custom rom almost eliminates all lagginess.
- don't look at the megapixel numbers. Bigger resolution doesn't equate better picture quality. dhd has dual led flash while sgs doesn't have led at all. better to read reviews for photo quality. to me, they are just fine.
- don't go for dell streak, really!

There's android phone recommendation thread. You might want to ask there and based on your budget, can choose which phone suits you.

i managed to update from simple 2.5 to 2.5.1 via speedmod kernel, but not from damian kernel. weird. i got bootloop and stuff

btw, i've finished downloading juwe's. waiting full charge now.

Can anyone help me? somehow my phone only emergency call only. I use maxis. is it the phone or the sim card problem eh? I try settings> mobile networks>network operator>search network>MY MAXIS. It says unable to connect.

^tried restore factory setting?

things you can try:

1) Set your Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA (auto mode)
2) flash another modem preferably asian (ZSJPE, ZSJPG, DXJPB, etc)

This is probably a problem with your apn settings. Check that first.

actually do anyone know how much my 2-3 months old SGS AP can fetch till?

Damn, I give up on Simple 2.5. My phone stucked on bootscreen just showing 'Overstock' again (yesterday once, spend whole nite not sleeping trying to recover back to stock rom and now it happened again!!)

I rebooted my Galaxy to CWM Recovery mode, choose update from zip folder, waited till flash complete, then reboot again. Did I missed any steps?

I guess I will fallback to Darky, so much simpler

$1500 to $1700 probably if you sell it by yourself. Sell it to shops will be lower still. What do you think?

any idea how to solve the battery consumption problem ? 3am i still have 45%. i wake up on 12pm left 30%. i did killed all the backgound apps and has about 160MB.
