I'm sorry, my question may sound stupid.
Erm.. Why is a smaller spread preferable?

I'm also a beginner, correct me if I'm wrong.
Example:

By the time you buy:
Bank A : Sell - RM104 , Buy - RM100, spread - RM4
Bank B : Sell - RM104 , Buy - RM98, spread - RM6

By the time u sell:
Bank A : Sell - RM204 , Buy - RM200, spread - RM4
Bank B : Sell - RM204 , Buy - RM198, spread - RM6

Profit at bank A = 200-104 = RM96
Profit at bank B = 198-104 = RM93

Can see the diff? If you're buying 1 or 2 grams, the different is not that much of cause.
Hope this clear for you. smile.gif

Spread is expressed as a percentage... not a fixed dollar sum.

By the time you buy:
Bank A : Sell = RM104 , Buy = (Sell - 4%), spread = RM4.16
Bank B : Sell = RM104 , Buy = (Sell - 6%), spread = RM6.24

By the time u sell:
Bank A : Sell - RM204 , Buy = (Sell - 4%), spread = RM8.16
Bank B : Sell - RM204 , Buy = (Sell - 6%), spread = RM12.24

Cool stuff man.
May i know where u buy it ?

A hairline scratch on Kijang Emas is allrite.
But, any visible scratch or dent on Kijang Emas which cause less weight of the coin will not accepted by Maybank.
Maybank officer say so.

Honestly I don't like scratches even hairlines sad.gif

Coin capsules the easiest place to buy is eBay because of the variety of sizes available.

For a box of 10-20. The average cost is around RM2.50 to RM3 per capsules after shipping.

Or if eBay is not an option, locally I know of a coin shop at Maju Junction Mall LG floor that stocks Light House and some other brands of coin capsules.

The owner is Mr. Raymond nice chap nod.gif

Hope that helps!

Guys take a look at this -- either the level of public awareness is still low in the US or it means there is still a lot of gold for us to stock up

That is not real gold coins... it's normal coinage that is meant to replace the 1 dollar bills tongue.gif

What happened is the average lifespan of coins is much longer versus paper currency hence the drive to adopt coins. Save money from printing replacement paper bills.

However for some reason 1 dollar "gold" coins never circulated well or are hoarded doh.gif

you need to "chase" the antelope. they sometimes hides in maybank bangsar branch, pj branch and shah alam branch. call all of them and confirm stock before starting your hunting spree! good luck! rclxm9.gif

For newbies investing in gold, here are various options to buy gold:
http://mygoldgoose.wordpress.com/2011/07/0...invest-in-gold/

Here's an interesting read: check out Britain’s first gold vending machine ‘Gold to Go’ - opened yesterday in the Westfield shopping centre in west London where shoppers can pick up a 1g coin for roughly £40 or a 250g bar for £10,250. Full story, http://mygoldgoose.wordpress.com/2011/07/0...ending-machine/

What will they come up with next? hmm.gif
