QUOTE(yukito86 @ Feb 16 2014, 08:31 PM) cool~ if you a member of badgerandblade hobbyist/vendor thread will be a good choice(better way as they're aware of what they are selling). Or you can get the razor from ebay and a strop from larry at whipped dog. Those strops in ebay are better to be left to the pros to tell the difference. Oh and some of the gd in ebay eventhough it's stated as "shaveready" most likely,it's not I've been using lousy shavette with feather cut refill. now I'm ready to tryout d real straight razor. Bt I nt sure which brand to go with. Where can I get this gold dollar n strop kit? This post has been edited by Currency Wars: Feb 17 2014, 06:36 PM |

Nicked my lips this morning using the DE razor. Didn't hurt at first but now its stinging. Any tips to reduce the stinging/itchiness?
Any ideas where I can get styptic pencil/alum block in PJ area? Tried the pharmacy but they don't have those. This post has been edited by nick67: Sep 2 2014, 01:32 PM |

I was told there's barber shop in taman tun called kedai gunting anand sells alum block. But alum block is more of an antiseptic to apply after the shave, gives you good feedback on your technique. If you want to stop bleeding immediately during the shave then you need styptic pencil.Any ideas where I can get styptic pencil/alum block in PJ area? Tried the pharmacy but they don't have those. |

Larry is a great guy to deal with just drop him an email. |

Hi bro, do you know roughly where is it located? I think Malaysia doesn't stock styptic pencils. Check with a Guardian, Watson, Caring etc all don't have. Are you a safety razor user too? |

Hi guys.. I'm recently changing my shaving routine to manual shave, after my trusty electronic shaver I was using for 6 years finally broke down. Didn't felt like buying a new electronic shaver, I went into Guardian and bought myself a Gillette® Fusion® ProGlide™ razor.
So far so good and I get cleaner shave compared to my electronic shaver. But the downside of the Fusion Proglide is the refill cartridges are so expensive! I'm thinking of getting a good DE razor, with no budget constrain. I've been reading some online articles and most of them recommend Merkur or Edwin Jagger. Is there any more better razor's brand which I can buy? Is there a local shop around KL/PJ where I can "feel" the razor on my hand before I buy one? Hope I can get some advises from fellow members. |

styptic pen is only available overseas. I bought mine in Boots London. Its very stinging when applied. Its even more painful than the actual nicking by the blade.

I buy Osma Alum Block, when the bleeding stops apply your toner/after shave and cream. |

Ya, that's the difficult part. Else it's really try and error. Anyway, I've been doing a bit of reading and I think I'll go with Merkur 34c.
