QUOTE(RodexMonkey @ Oct 19 2009, 12:01 PM) hi, i'm a noob on OC 2....need some pointer...(i nvr done OC b4) here is my spec = Asus M4A78-E AMD Phenom IIx4 940 Black Edition XFX 4870 1gb XXX Corsair XMS 2gb 800mhz Seagate 320gb HDD Silverstone ST60F 600W Modular wat should i do to start OCing ? [bios terms ] know your mobo's bios well before you can start OC if you're familiar with the bios then you can do OC... there's two choices on how you can start oc, either in the bios or by using the 3rd party software produced by processor company itself or other company in your windows OS...

The numerical is known as CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS. If you do not understand what's the function for the matter, here a good guide for you to understand: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/26 If you already know what's the meaning behind RAM timing and wish to overclock it, you can read some article via here: http://www.techenclave.com/guides-and-tuto...guide-2457.htmlhere's another good article about RAM overclocking: How-to overclock http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/How-t...ck-t11177.htmlMemory Overclocking http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/152Beginners Guides: Overclocking the CPU, Motherboard & Memory http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1804 hope this help

if you only need to oc the proc then, just do it... the term is easy like i said before if you didn't familiar with the bios you need to learn it first before you can set any of the function, just to make sure that you know what are you doing if not it getting more worse than ever. Keep reading the manual if you're not familiar with the function .....

QUOTE(yong_lin94 @ Oct 25 2009, 09:38 AM) lol.... just change a bit of the multiplier dunno can or not .. bcoz some games now need 2.8 or above and i dun want just arm~arm~ 2.8 or something else like that . and boot up or format pc also fast a bit mah actually the one you state 2.8ghz above for minimum requirement for the games is based on the old proc.. not a new proc.. actually

I got a problem. Intel E6300 Asus P5B Cooler Master GX650W Ati 5670 Corsiar Gaming DDR2-800MHz 2x2GB (dual channel interleaved)
by default, e6300 is 266, and 800MHz (FSB:DRAM 2:3) Why is it recommended that overclock at 1:1? When i increase fsb, the dram goes 1000MHz and doesnt boot. (PC-6400 mode) There`s possible to run in (PC-4300) but I wan the ram run in full potential. any help/suggestion will be appreciated.
