QUOTE(a1098113 @ Aug 12 2008, 08:51 PM) hahahaha don't laaa...just that I've shifted towards efficiency in design. Actually don't OC that much anymore after since realizing that kepping proc within stock design parameter's (upto 1333Mhz bus speed) and maximizing bandwidth at a set memory clockspeed yielded more tangible gains for day to day use (i.e faster boot times, smoother HD playback processing, and more) |

i agree on that, i am doing the same at the moment, though the itchy hands do take over sometimes.... to push it to the max and get corrupted os in the process

Maybe just for that bling factor, yeah it never hurts. Most experts will say that the reduction in lifespan is not really significant as you'd probably change CPU before the lifespan is over....
In terms of years, a normal CPU can last for 10 years? 20 years? 30 years? I dont' think anybody can tell you the right answer as each individual CPU has a different lifespan.... Even the 3 year warranty period is not for certain, as certain CPU can rarely kaput before that period, even at stock clock... |

I'd say just ramp up the FSB 10Mhz at a time, stop each time to run Intel Burn Test. If pass, ramp up next step. If fail, increase Vcore one step, retest. If still fail, ramp up Vtt or Vmch one step. Like that. Repeat until you hit either a. The speed you want, b. Temp limit, or c. Voltage limit.

go to ur bios n set ur multiplier to 8..
then disable C1E and EIST or something like Intel Speed Step... i am using 64bit too n there is no problem with the cpuz |
