Ya, I am using DS3. No budget to get the wheel...

Are you using wheel to achieve 3:22? So much different between wheel and DS3?!

I am still struggling with the monster X1 challenge with DS3... Does the wheel much more easier to achieve compare to DS3?

Ya, I'm using G25 racing wheel. Last time I'm a DS3 user too and I found out that DS3 limits your car's wheel turning degree, meaning racing wheel can turn more in a corner compared with DS3! Maybe the new update will fix that I'm not sure.
For the X1 challenge, u need to be a super DS3 alien to Gold all the challenges! I golded all the challenges using G25 and that also took me weeks of practices and trials and sweat like hell!! But definitely wheel is much better and easier compared to DS3.

I'm not sure, but it should help a bit i think. I tried the Tsukuba 9 hrs endurance race last week using Redbull X2010, and i used both steering wheel and DS3 during racing, If my arm feels tired, then i'll use DS3 to drive the X2010 with controller sensitivity 7. What i experienced during the race was the tire wear when using a DS3 is slower than steering wheel. When i took corners using wheel, i'll turn the steering wheel more than 200 degree and my front tires easily turns red, compared with DS3 with full analog turns in a corner. Lap time was about 1 sec slower in DS3.

No wonder cant find the new time attack thread it is under Competitive Gaming under computers sub thread.


I heard our forummer lopak golded the X1 challenge last time with a DS3 by setting the controller sensitivity to 10. I can't even gold a single event in the X1 using a wheel. Best was silver. I'm a noob.

I am very happy tonight!!! Finally I completed first 2 challenge in X2010 challenge!!! Now left Suzuka track to go! After 2 hours trials, tired... Try again on Suzuka next day... Need a lot of practice on Suzuka, too much corners...
Can't gold X2010 challenge with DS3, but I saw people golded the challenge with DS3 on other forum...

already giveup golding suzuka x1 challenge using ds3.my fastest time on suzuka 2.10.656.

i notice ds3 especially in nascar oval track, u can't maintain speed as u r in the corner bank...speed drops tremendously...wheels will not hav such issue

I've seen a guy driving it being average 2 secs faster than other drivers with the same car & same limitations while the rest are around the same speed.

Anyway here's mine:

All upgrades including Chassis Reinforcement.

HP tune to 300hp, Racing soft.
Gear ratio tune to 200km/h, haven't really tried to tune individual gear since everytime something change i have to redo the gear.

DF (Max/Min)
Ride Height (min front/back)
Suspension (8.5/11.5)
Expansion (6/7)
Compression (5/6)
Rollbar (3/4)
Camber (1.7/0.8) (Too little?)
Toe (-30/-28) (Too much?)

Steering sensitivity 5
Abs 1
All others off

I tried to increase the camber over 1.7 to increase front grip during corner but felt braking were affected. I made the rear grip less so it can oversteer more.

Also i notice many people had TC on 5 when it's allowed.

So far i can only average 57secs with this setup.

I thought I never able to finish all the event, which makes me want to sell GT5 off. Guess it will hold for a while.
But not going to go for Platinum, this is very impossible for me...

You can do it. Go buy a steering wheel. If u can complete all the special event races using DS3, then it should be no problem for you to gold all the races and get platinum. The "Gold Standard" trophy is considered the hardest of all apart from Platinum.

Ya, totally agree with you. Gold Standard is the hardest trophy...
Not going to get the wheel, no budget and no space to put...
Maybe somebody can borrow me the wheel. hehe...

It's been a long since I last play GT5. Been played GT5 since day 1 till mid March I think..now it's time to finish all the other games that I left during GT5 Reign..
