Interesting topics, just bumped into this.

Well 1st of all, it is not recommended to put didi inside little sista without helmet's on (if you dun plan to have a baby). But yeah -- it is still a safety measure in case the helmet fails. Else it is not necessary at all. Good to know, thanks.

You mean BCP right? As far as I'm concern, it's only available thru doctors here in Malaysia.
ECP are available over the counter from pharmacist.

Common sense and some basic biology will let you come to the conclusion that you will not bleed because there's no more blood lining to be shed.

Different people react differently to the pill, you have to take into account your menstrual cycle, when was the intercourse, when did you consume the pill, stress, etc. Some find that it doesn't affect their menstrual cycle, some find that they get their period few days after taking ECP. Everyone is different.

Thanks for your information. Actually I just had my very first time unprotected intercourse with my bf on the 5th day of my period.(is that safe period ?right?) Just took the postinor-2 for the first try but still worrying for the unwanted pregnancy. May i know minimum how long do i need to wait to buy a pregnancy test kit for a more accurate result? Thanks in advance.

It's common for girls to have some hormone changes when they have sex for the first time. So first of all, don't be panic, stop worrying and just relax. More often than not, it's stress that's delaying your period, not an unwanted pregnancy.

Next, to answer your question, if you ask me, no time of the month can be consider as an absolutely 'safe period'. Some people even get pregnant when they are having their menses. So it's still best to use protection for your future sexual intercourses. That aside, the most fertile period is during the 12th to 16th day or so. Reason being sperm can survive for 3 days while egg only survive 1 day. So if the sperm goes in on the 12th and the egg is out on the 14th, there is higher chance fertilization will occur. People always say after menses is the safest time, but I don't think so. We won't know when we ovulate, unless you have a stable menstrual cycle or you check your body's sign to know when you ovulate. And knowing that sperm can live for 3 days, there's the risk that our body will ovulate around the 10th day then fertilization may occur. Safest time if you ask me, will be before your menses is about to come.

To get a pregnancy test kit to yield the most accurate results, test it when your next period is due. That is, if your menses is expected to come on the 1st, but you still don't get anything, then try testing it around the 3rd or 4th. If you test it one week after your menses is due (around the 7th), that will yield the most accurate results as some pregnancy test kit are not so sensitive in testing for small amounts of HCG levels.

Hi. I would want to try Postinor-2 for the first time. But how reliable is that if I take it in a correct way? Im really anxious if postinor fails me since my bf is reluctant to use condom anyway. Could anyone share experiences on having postinor after an unprotected intercourse during girl's unsafe period, but still be safe from pregnancy? From other websites i got to know that it's failure rate is 1%, is that true? Why every websites state the different percentage of failure rate? Some say 1% but some say 20-30%?

Hope someone could help me, i'm really in anxious mood now.

You can read thru the previous post on this thread to find out more.

I've personally taken postinor2 a few times, probably more than 10 times already over the dunno how many years. So far none of them had failed on me. However, I should warn you that everyone has different reactions to it. I've personally had all sorts of reactions, no reaction, no menses, got menses after few days, got menses for continuously 2 weeks. All of these reactions are normal according to the pharmacists and gynaes that I've consulted.

Seeing how you have express yourself here, you seems to be one that is very prone to anxiousness and stress. So the first thing you should do (and every other girl who is worried over the similar issue) is to relax, stop worrying and don't stress yourself out. Cause stress is usually the main reason why our menses delay -- and make us think we are pregnant.

Secondly, not everything stated on the Internet is true. Keep that in mind.

Lastly, dump your bf. wink.gif

Why would you take 3 pills? Did you buy two boxes of Postinor2 just to take 3 pills? One box only has 2 pills no?

Shouldn't have anything wrong. If you do feel pain or any other discomfort that doesn't go away, please consult a doctor.

Yeah i did buy 2 boxes. Just to be save, I've swallowed the third pill 12 hours after that to relieve and 'comfort' myself. Does this increase or prolong the its effectiveness? So far i do not feel any discomfort. Does this has any adverse effect by taking 3-4 pills just for 'one-time-intercourse'?

I support the last 2 lines of this post. If your BF do not want to wear condom, then you have all the rights to refuse having intercourse with him.
Unless he is married to you or legally binded to you, then he cannot force anything on you. If he says he will leave you, then you have choices...
1. to ask him to walk away...nicely...
if tat fails,...have a wild sex with him and get him to leave some bruising and marks. then go to police station and report rape.
that will teach him a lesson. thumbup.gif

well i dont think that there is much effect to it. Just to ask you, do you really know what does Postinor do to your body?
Seriously, you are consuming the tablet, do you know how it prevents you from getting pregnant?

Nice thread, and get good info on the comments provided from all the kind forumers. To be frank i'm used to sometimes having intercourse with condoms and sometimes don't. Yeah my gf will sometimes having a late period after we have intercourse without condoms - i will buy the test kit for her when her period date suppose to due but still no sign of coming. She have not tried any pills before due to lack of knowledge. But however, because i don't want to take the risk anymore, i'm now always have safe sex with her (besides, we getting married soon) tongue.gif
