There is no actual maximum times you can take ECP. Some would say that the limit would be a maximum of 1-2 times each cycle. However, after prescribing the first course of ECP, a doctor would usually advise the woman to subsequently practice an effective method of contraception, rather than relying on ECP all the time.

though ECP can be used for not more than 3-4 times a month. but it is really dangerous. like said, ECP, emergency is used when you had unprotective sex, condom burst, missed common contraceptive pill, raped, etc etc.

i would say 1-2 times a year, is fine, but if you use it like every month, then the hormonal cycle of the woman definitely will be screwed so much.

If it's hazardous then might as well stop takin' it regularly. Maybe use it only if unplanned sex happened or engaging in unprotected sex. icon_rolleyes.gif

According to an article that I came across, the side effect and the serious of the side effect is subjective to the body system of the consumer. It ranges from nausea and vomitting, dizziness to serious headache and irregular bledding. It will appear that this pill is like a fail-safe option to a failed prevention!

Hey, some guy on another thread around here took postinor (yes, a male taking postinor) and claimed that he's growing breasts and losing body hair.

Most of us think it's BS but he posted some disgusting pictures of his man-breasts.

u shouldnt just assume that without checking it out first... when u are desperate u will search high and low for it....

anyway, best is to play safe .. use condoms and/or birth control pills...  morning after pills are just for emergency use.

it has never been intended to be used regularly anyway.

combined oral contraceptives pills are those to be used daily, but not emergency hormonal contraception.

That's not a very helpful statement, is it? There are no contraceptive method that will give you 100% guarantee. Even sterilisation of the female don't give 100% guarantee. So, if a woman can't depend on the pill, other methods or sterilisation, what can they depend on? rclxub.gif

Agreed with kmarc. What about surgery? It is confirm to prevent pregnancy for life, and does it still count as contraception. hmm.gif

what kind of surgery. hysterectomy and vasectomy, the bad thing about it is that they are not reversible. should you decided to have children in future, you will have no way. as for contraceptive pills, stop taking it and it is totally reversible.

Yeah. surgery is like that. Once done can't be undone. I've had a teacher back in school who done it. nod.gif

If you're asking about surgical methods to prevent pregnancy, then it is called sterilisation. Male - vasectomy. Female - bilateral tubal ligation (BTL).

Even these methods are not 100% safe. The best would be vasectomy, with a failure rate of roughly 1 in 2000 procedures. For the BTL, it is about 1 in 200 procedures....

Both are intended to be permanent. However, for women, the BTL can be reversed if the expertise is available. Not that easy as to say "I want to reverse my BTL" as they have to go through a rigorous selection and assessment process. smile.gif

it is quite common actually. a lot of people have it done just after delivery of baby if they have decided that they dont want any more children.

Yeah. When they've reached the number of children that they've planned earlier. It also part of the family planning and to efficiently use the family income some decided to stop having more child and concentrate on the ones they have.
