Unlike last time, the tiling uses adhesive like mortar. It does not need thick layer to give proper hold to tiles.

i have got this yard area in my new condo. washing machine will be at a corner and planning to put my fridge there too to maximise the kitchen space.

Was initially planning to tile up the entire surrounding walls. But is there any alternative to tiles? Maybe a special paint?

If can google youtube. It is easy. You can just buy ready mix tile adhesive in most DIT shop. The main problem is whether you can find the same tile or not. Normally after few years, the tile pattern would become obsolete unless white tiles biggrin.gif Even if the same tiles, color could be different slightly.
