Hi All, quick question, my house floor gloss porcelain tile (guocera brand) has stains (black marks, coffee color stain, yellow color stain) that can't be remove with floor cleaners.

Do any of you have such experience on how to remove those stains?

Thanks.

Try using thinner. Use a cloth, dampen with thinner, then try wiping it off. I managed to wipe most stains but still left one stubborn one till now. Haha

It is a subsale house. Approximately 4-5 years old. Since it is now still empty and I planned to renovate, which is why I'm asking here whether the hollow tile size is acceptable? If it is not then I have to allocate budget for retiling as well.

Tiles popping out due to lots of factor, major hollowness could be one of the factor..

I would suggest you to retile the hollow tile area if it is extensive.

If is just few pieces, you can actually repair it with some sort of filling grout..

Found this online, hope it helps.

Sub sales have to consider nicely coz if last time tiling time no put susu then it might pop out after a few years.

Hi, I'm planning to buy materials for tiling myself since a lot of people say much cheaper this way and just hire contractor for labour. I did my calculation. I need to buy about 300pcs 2x2 and 200pcs 2x1 tiles. Other than cement and sand, what other material need to buy? And how many cement and sand and other material I need to buy? I don't want to be conned by the contractor. I heard some cases where the contractor asked to buy more than it should be and sell the extra material.

If I'm going to DIY hacking existing tiles, do I need to remove old cement as well? Or just the tiles is enough? How many layers are there usually?

Plus, is there any good tiling contractor doing job in Batu Caves/Gombak area? Thanks

Unless you know what you are doing, is totally not something you can DIY. PM me if you looking for good contractor. Some things are not meant to be save on cost but rather be safe on doing it properly

Dear forumers,

I wanna tile my 3 bedrooms with total size around 450 sqft.
A Chinese tiler quotes me RM10/sqft for removing wood floor, cement, labor, etc.
Tiles I will buy myself.

Is it reasonable?

Not recommended for DIY bro.
Hacking of tiles is not as simple as your think.
It will require drilling and you might injured yourself with the debris flying around.

Since you hiring contractor for labour then you might give them the hacking and tiling job together.
You can buy the tiles for them to use.
You can basically calculate the area size needed for tiling and just inform the tiles shop.
They can do calculation of amount of tiles required.
