What's the current standard price for installing 2x2 tiles in a 500sqft living room? Labor + Material and Labor only if I decide to buy the material myself. thanks in advance

2X2 tiles is around RM10+ to RM20+.
Expect the labor to be similar to the price of your tiles.

Example: Tiles for 500sqft = RM2k then your labor also looking at RM2k. Total RM4k.

If you want modern looking then you should go for Niro.
Venus and White Horse is lower range of brand.

Hi, I'm planning to buy materials for tiling myself since a lot of people say much cheaper this way and just hire contractor for labour. I did my calculation. I need to buy about 300pcs 2x2 and 200pcs 2x1 tiles. Other than cement and sand, what other material need to buy? And how many cement and sand and other material I need to buy? I don't want to be conned by the contractor. I heard some cases where the contractor asked to buy more than it should be and sell the extra material.

If I'm going to DIY hacking existing tiles, do I need to remove old cement as well? Or just the tiles is enough? How many layers are there usually?
Plus, is there any good tiling contractor doing job in Batu Caves/Gombak area? Thanks

Not recommended for DIY bro.
Hacking of tiles is not as simple as your think.
It will require drilling and you might injured yourself with the debris flying around.

Since you hiring contractor for labour then you might give them the hacking and tiling job together.
You can buy the tiles for them to use.
You can basically calculate the area size needed for tiling and just inform the tiles shop.
They can do calculation of amount of tiles required.
