Hey guys, I'm looking for some Kimgress tiles. Bought load of tiles from Superceramics and there are 2 things that I'm not happy with:-

1. Can't change
2. I'm down by 10 pieces for master bedroom toilet and the sales lady told me that they are out of stock.

Headache. Do you guys have experience ordering directly from Kimgress? Or keep pressuring the vendor, in my case SupCeramics, to get me stock?

Or...take the tile code and hunt down various tiles store in KL until I get the exact code that I want?

Ive been told there are 2 types of tiling ways . Wet type which can be installed without adhesive cement and latex admixture(susu) and dry type which requires both adhesive and susu .

Which one is better ? Assume both quoting me the same price 4.80/sqf includes material but without tiles . Size 2 x 2

as usual , each contractor will promote thier own skills .

My.Tilez delivers. Manage to get my hard to find tiles.

Shout-out and thanks to you. When meeting up next time, try not to mention some hotel. Really freak me when you say you want to meet me up at a hotel's parking to transact tiles.

Need opinion.... I already bought subsale house, the tiles on the living room already pop out from the floor, some of the tiles are broken but others are still ok, the question is should I replace all the tiles or just the broken tiles? I know we need to remove all the tiles and put it back (rework) but should I change all? The tiles is hippo porcelain 2x2 btw. If need to replace all, i plan to change to 1x1 tiles

Hello,

I have a question regarding my contractor's quotation.

1. I found a 3" x 6" tiles at superceramic, it costs RM1 per tiles. I asked him to get them fro mthere
2. The area that requires tiling is about 60sqft, so technically it's about 480 tiles. Plus minus 20 tiles, so roughly around 500 tiles. RM1/tiles x 500 = RM500 tiles.
3. The installer tries to charge me RM1,500 for the purchase and installation of the tiles.
4. There is no special instruction whatsoever from me, apart from to install them to resemble brick formation and to put black filler gaps between them.
5. I forgot to mention that they need to remove existing tiles on my walls, for about 117sqft of tiles. Does this require hacking?

Q1. What are the things that I need to consider when asking for quoation for tiles installation?
Q2. In my case, what costs me the other RM1,000?

Thanks in advance.

it would seem that the previous tile work was shoddy.
to save you agony in the future just redo everything.
it is much easier to do it now than when you have moved in with furniture.

nowadays larger tiles are in trend and also save money as you don't need to buy so many pieces.

i know i need to redo everything every inch of the area but the question is, should I change all the tiles or just buy the same tiles to replace the broken tiles and redo everything? Most of the tiles already pop out FYI

In calculations the area need 65 2x2 tiles, the broken tiles less than 10 tiles, price around RM25/piece. My material cost is rm250, but if change all tiles i have to spent a lot more.... Labor cost rm4/sq ft regardless of tiles.

Hi all,

Need your feedback
We plan to lay tiles on our backyard, currently its soil area (suppose for planting grass) and also drain.
The dimension is 22x10 ft
Our contractor quote us to cover the whole area and tiling works cost is RM6,200 (without tiles)

Is that too expensive?

In my living room and dinning room,
the old broken marble is no more shining.
I intends to change to 600mmx600mm
tiles or 800mmx800mm tiles.
total area is around 25x20 ft. A huge
area.

Contractor A came , and mention that nowaday
trend is 800x800 for our area like this
the outcome will give an " wow".

Contractor B came and advice not to
change the broken marble, just to
repolish again. He also mention that the bigger
the tiles , the chances of pop
up is high.

ehat do you sifu think? Shall i go ahead for the
800x800mm tiles orother wise?
thank you

depends on how much work he doing for you.

1. ground prep
2. waterproof for drain so water dun seep under the drain cement to erode the ground and tiles above
3. drain is tiles type or cement type

etc etc.

too high.

i was asking about building a cement slab on a grass piece. price ranges from RM500 to RM3000. measurement is 5 feet x 5 feet. finally built at RM500 (exc tiling) but i helped him as well (to throw the rubbish away). 8" deep.

process - dig out the soil. say about 9" deep.
fill with gravel and sand, cement. first layer of cement slab. dry for a few days.
then fill again with gravel and cement. second layer. let it dry.
then only tile on top.
