oh..then rm2170 + xx delievery charge sure way cheaper than maxis those network. but is there any disadvantages? cuz if there isn't any disadvantages, i'm sure everyone would buy it through clove.

thats what the fellas from australia here doing...they love to buy it from UK(clove and handtec) coz they cant wait any longer for the carrier to release it..they dont need to pay VAT and any tax/custom to import it

the only disadvantage is the warranty where they need to send it over if something happen..
im one of them that bought SGS and luckily there is no problem with my phone until now...

No, samsung already support mkv playback since old galaxy s but only up to 720p. SGS2 now can play 1080p mkv bcoz it processor/gpu good enough to play it.

that particular article refers to the US market.

Samsung phones releases in US tend to be delayed compared to the rest of the world. This is becoz in US their phone market is dominated by "carrier-subsidised" model. So the carriers have a lot of say when it comes to customising the phones to their liking.

even SGS1 was released to the rest of the world much earlier than the variants in US.

This is the problem I noted with the Asian manufacturers - HTC, Samsung , LG . When they launch a product , they are always unable to fix adate of sale available and price. Samsung if delayed further could lose sales to the HTC Sensation which if on schedule will be in May/June. Again, no one knows whether these dates for the HTC is accurate or not .

These they need to learn from Apple which when launching a new product is very specific on date/countries/price for the first offerings. Only the later offers to other countries is unsure

Agree. The longer they drag, the higher number of customers lost interest.
HTC is still better if compared with their Incredible S.
When Samsung first announce SGS2, they said it will launch in March, and then April, and then May.
Until now we still don't have an exact release date. But the nearest is May 1st.

thats true.

also, the sgs1 was such a success mainly becoz it had first mover advantage. when it was first announced and launch, spec-wise it was ahead. htc's desire hd only caught up a few months later and even that also the specs just match and not really exceeded sgs. lg and sony was even more behind, but this round it's different.

lg managed to gain advantage with it's the first dual-core, but lg's rep is not so strong, so the damage to samsung is not that bad yet. however if htc gets ahead this time, samsung will have a tougher fight.

so it's to samsung's own detriment if it slips up this time.
