Oh yes...
Thanks for bringing Busquets up.
People still whine that he dives and all.
But for the people who have been watching all the matches from this season and the last, you could tell he has cut out that non-sense out.
EVer since the peek-a-boo incident against Inter he has stopped over reacting.
Too bad people keep on living in the past.
Look for other people's positives, dont hate.

People who are not familar with La Liga or Barca think that you need a strong, well built DM but you dont.
All you need is a player who is very good in reading the games.
Like Busquets said, he is always calculating.

And it's true. The amount of times, he blocks a move, I mean like cutting out the passing lanes. He is a master at that. You may not really see what he does cos the ball is away from him but try next time, just follow Busquets. He is genius.

Barcelona ready to sacrifice star striker

Barcelona-Real-Madrid-Pedro-Rodriguez-David-Villa-UEFA-Champions-League cropped

Barcelona are preparing to offer David Villa to Manchester City and Chelsea for £40million.

The Catalan giants have reluctantly accepted that they will have to sacrifice their World Cup-winning striker to help fund a £91m triple summer swoop for Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas, Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez and Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.

Barca boss Pep Guardiola has been restricted to a £40m transfer budget as the La Liga and Champions League winners set about slashing their £350m debt.

And Nou Camp president Sandro Rosell has made it clear to his manager that further money for signings must be generated through sales.

Villa, 29, joined Barca only 13 months ago in a £35m switch from Valencia and notched 23 goals for Guardiola’s team last season.

He is also Spain’s all-time record scorer with 46 goals in 72 international appearances.

A source revealed: “Guardiola has a list of players he is prepared to move on to give him more spending power in the transfer market, but Villa is definitely not on that list.

“Ideally, he wants to keep Villa – especially after the impact he made in his first campaign with Barca. He sees David as a big player as his side push for more trophies next season.

“But he also knows that he may have to sacrifice Villa to finance incoming deals. And Manchester City and Chelsea would be very happy to buy Villa.”

Rosell has told the Gunners that he won’t pay more than £35m for Fabregas, while a £2.7m-a-season deal with the £30m-rated Sanchez – who is also being chased by Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and Inter Milan – has already been agreed.

Rossi is close to completing a £26m switch, and his agent Federico Pastorello confirmed: “His dream is to certainly wear the Barcelona shirt and with official negotiation I believe a deal can be done.”

Barca’s Spanish international centre-back Gerard Pique, who played alongside Rossi when they were youngsters together at Old Trafford, said: “Giuseppe has so much talent, good control and is very fast.

“He fits neatly into Barcelona as both a man and a player.”

Yeah, but the same sympathy is hardly been shown to Cristiano Ronaldo despite he being significantly better in cutting out those antics.

I'll agree with you on Busquets ability. A familiar name to compare would be Makelele, luckily for Barcelona your president is not Perez.

I'm not really follow La Liga, but why Barcelona want to get rid of David Villa for Sanchez and Rossi ? Isn't it better to have majority of Spanish player in the squad ?

Hello fellow Cules, please be extra careful when reading British press reports. There're sh!t, believe me. That article you quoted for instance, it is absolutely laughable considering that they publish the news but don't have the balls to properly mention its true source. What is their source? Someone from inside Barcelona? A member of the board poerhaps? Or Rosell himself?

That's why I prefer reading Sport.es and EMD. Even though their reports may contain a lot of exaggeration and overly bombastic news, at least they don't make up quotes, and they don't act like they have secret agents acting as their 'source'. Even with those horrible translation by Google, I don't mind.

laugh.gif Oh yeah? Whatever, the main point is both Ronaldo and Busquets tend to dive, and so are many other big names. Please stop the hypocrisy.

Hmm perhaps I have phrase that sentence wrongly. I meant significantly better than his previous self, not in comparison to Busquets' efforts.

frankly speaking, i know it was crap when i read bout that report however, i just afraid that lightning strike twice like wat happen to ibra.. i mean for me ibra is performing ok when he was with us.. but too bad he just be with us only a season, i wonder what kind of dispute happen between him n pep.. hmm.gif

btw, assuming sanchez will play for us, n let say we manage to get febregas too, so who will be playin in the first eleven.

ok, we r playin 4 3 3, that is abidal, puyol, pique n alves at the back, in the center we will hav busquets/masch, xavi/febregas n iniesta, forward shud be messi, villa n pedro/sanchez.. whatever it is i wishes that affelay can hav more play time as i c a lot of potential in him, i hope he'll be like bergkamp in our team. rclxms.gif

hohohoh...
please do not ever, ever put bergkamp in the same sentence as affelay.
im happy and all that to finally have a dutch on our team, but bergkamp is in a planet of his own.
bergkamp has a touch similar to iniesta's, smooth and silky.
yeah, maybe iniesta is the closest to bergkamp.

Don't worry nothing better than u have a deep bench that can support the teammates ,fabregas and sanchez, they are both not new and they are the big name in their team ... Barca game will be more interesting ,but I am thinking y barca don't get 1 or 2 defender in case there is any injuries .....

bcoz Sanchez is a natural winger, Villa only play on the flank bcoz Pep favour Messi at the centre of the trident.
And i think Barca have more than enuff Spanish/Catalan player in their ranks unlike some of EPL giants who mostly
consist of foreigners

Sport has published the details about Sanchez transfer:

1) 28ME
2) 5ME in variables
3) Jeffren go to Udinese
4) Jonathan Soriano to La Liga newcomer Granada.

Why suddenly Granada? Because both Granada and Udinese are owned by the Pozzo family. The father owns Udinese, the son owns Granada.

Despite this, there are still working on even more details. Seems like it'd take a lot more for Udinese lowering their expectation. IINM initially they demanded 50ME.

BTW, Messi provided this gorgeous pass to assist Aguero rclxms.gif

ridiculous if Barca want to sacrifice Villa. his goal tally /effectiveness suffered because Messi playing more centrally (and fit throughout last season)

he still superb finisher. arguably the best in the world, or at very least top 3. sacrifice for Fabregas and Rossi? both will an excellent auxiliary players, but not good enough to be in current Barca best XI.

wait another year or 2 for Fabregas. his value will decrease as long he not renew his contract.

Roma interest is real, but Bojan is still away with Spain U21 squad. Any discussion should be held until the tourney ends I guess. So too Jeffren, about his move to Udinese.

Hi matyrze. Would like to know your view about bojan's transfer. Still a really young lad(21 years old) and i thought he has been the "Wonderkid" in barca(A striker and one of LA masia's product). But despite his age and nationality, 10 million pounds is quite a nice amount. smile.gif

Yeap 10 million is pretty good amount. However another problem pops out. Barca keen to add 2 years buy back clause into the the agreement. However Roma are rumored to ask a whopping 20ME, much higher than 12ME Barca expected doh.gif Lets see how it turns out.

Personally I'd like Bojan to stay, but I gotta admit that during the last game I watched him playing, which was during last 15 minutes of Spain U21 vs Ukraine game, I twice facepalmed because of his poor decision making. Maaayybe he really needs the move, but for me once he goes away, there's no chance for him to succeed here sad.gif
