Btw,where is the best place to watch barcelona highlights? I find some videos in footytube cannot be watched.
*
you're out of luck.
last year there was a guy who uploads a lot of barca matches on youtube.
too bad he's been taken down.

really suspend.. after a draw it gijon, lose to arsenal, we really need this win to boost our moral.. we deserved this win.

now it seems more n more teams playing parking the bus against us.. really annoying..
*
that has been the case since the start of last season.
other teams noticed how we steam rolled past every team in 08/09 and took notice.
we are better in handling the bus this season i think.
more movements=more chances

On the last match.
How was that not a foul on Messi after slaloming past 6 players?
It was not jsut any tackle, it was a hard tackle.
High and dangerous.
If Messi went on and scored a goal, it will most probably be the contender for goal of the year.

Im still bummed that his goal against Zaragoza(away) wasn't voted by FIfa. Instead, the goal Valencia was voted. And they should have included the 4 goals against Arsenal as well as it was something special.

I really don't like the new rumors regarding Wilshere.
I dont know who started it but its going to give us a bad name once again in ENgland.
Im sure it was the press who kick started it.
Last summer, a lot of FAKE news and interviews came out from England.
We dont need anymore bad publicity.
I know that sometimes bad publicity is good but this is definitely not a good one.

thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif I'm going to do a lot of editing in  record section as long as Pep continues as the coach. This team is breaking records into finely shredded pieces notworthy.gif

*
you damn right you will have a lot of editing to do!
there was this period of time a few weeks back where in every match there was some kind of record to be broken.
crazy crazy.

why don't you put up some special stats after every match.
like against Bilbao(on Astro it said BiLbOA) Pinto had more passes than the entire Bilbao team except for 3 players.
How crazy is that? A GK?
And Xavi had more passes that the whole team combined if im not mistaken

Added on February 22, 2011, 9:06 amArsenal are at it again.
Jon Miquel Toral will join Arsenal in the summer. Barcelona will receive a transfer fee of 350.000 euros. He is 16 years old.
Good thing is that there is actually a deal with the club.
And the better part is that a more promising youngster whom I've watched a few times on Barca TV already, Sergi Samper, rejected Arsenal.

When Arsenal was promising a lot of first team appearances, it's hard to compete. I doubt Cesc would have had played nearly as many games as he did in Arsenal when he was 18.
*
was going to say that in the arsenal thread but by just saying that arsenal signed another youngster from us they already were pmsing,
let them be. they will never think straight and talk like an adult. not just here.
other online fans as well. they are so sensitive.

Added on February 22, 2011, 10:59 pmArsenal will pay Barcelona Cadete A player Toral a salary that is 35 times more than what Barcelona offered.
Hahha. For sure the Arsenal fans will find a way to make it look good for them.

Great work Mat.
You should post those excerpts on the Arsenal thread.haha

I read another piece last year where there was a story how Cesc, Pique and Messi crushed every opponent at their youth leagues, how close they were etc.
Unfortunately, that piece is saved in my Australian house.sigh

I hope our starting midfield would be
Iniesta-Keita-Busi
when we need to be conservative 50/50

Iniesta-Busi-Masch when we need to be defensive

Iniesta-Affelay-Busi when attack minded

Again, reread your post. It was provocative. You don't write provocative stuff and not expect people to be provoked, do you?

Don't act all innocent without self-reflection.
*
I like reading your comments btw.
You're a cool headed guy.

Now, my reply to your reply smile.gif

This was my post;

1)You guys just love signing Barca kids don't you?
16year old Jon Miquel Toral.
2)Thank God Sergi Samper rejected your offer.
3)But Im pretty sure it won't be the last time that you guys will come after him.

1) Isn't it true that Wenger and Arsenal scouts love to try and sign Barca youth players?
2) Fact. He prefers to stay here. Im happy with that. Is it wrong for me to be happy?
3) Sergi is one of the brightest, I've seen him play a few times on Barca Tv( yes, in SG we had Barca TV)

I don't see anything provocative in my post there.
Im not like that.
If one day you see my name in some other site's anywhere online, you can check it yourself. I have been using this nick name for years.

If I really was mad at the move, I would've said
1) you guys love to poach our kids, don't you?
2) thank god he rejected cause he cant win trophies there.
You know, Im sure there are fans like that, many in fact but that's not how I roll.
Not in real life nor in e-life lol

I didn't know why most of them got so defensive.
All I wanted to do was post a news since nobody posted it yet( I checked the posts first and nobody mentioned it).
Perhaps it was partly my fault.
Maybe there was a history between Barca and Arsenal fans here that Im not aware of since Im new but I did mention this after wards;

"Im just giving you guys the latest news.
In fact, in the Barca thread, I actually wrote that you guys actually PAID us so it's not illegal. I jsut forgot to mention it here."

Which I did, mentioning the price. If I wanted to provoke, I wouldnt mention anything about a payment.
For a payment to happen, an agreement has to be reached between two parties( Arsenal and Barca).
So if I hide that FACT, I would trying to stir things up by making it look like Arsenal made an immoral deal.
But once again, thats not me.

barca kids love arsenal.
dont they?

its toral own decision , he want to join arsenal.. nobody force him to join arsenal..

oh well.. maybe later he become a player as good or more then fabregas..
barca can take him back with a price maybe 60m?

LOL..

if u want to blame someone, just blame barca club itself coz not to offer him a very good offer that will make toral stay at barca..
no need to say arsenal is stealing or whatever
its ur own fault... not arsenal.
*
Like I said earlier, Arsenal paid us money so I don't mind it.
But I just wanna tell you that you are missing some points here.

Barca can't offer him a contract as it's not allowed to offer an under 18 kid a pro contract.
Even the salary is fixed, everywhere in SPain.
Arsenal or any other club can offer any kid in Spain a much higher wage because it is allowed there, I believe when they hit 17 as the very
informative nobody mentioned earlier.
The only thing that Barca can do is make promises. Thats it.
But who would gamble their future on promises alone right?
And Wenger promised the kid that he will be promoted in 2012.
Now which 16 year old kid would reject that offer?
Just put your self in his shoes.
I sure wouldn't...

Well said minority. As I mentioned earlier, it takes two to tango. One cannot accuse another club of "poaching' (this refers to ALL clubs btw) if the PLAYER HIMSELF also wants to transfer.

If Nasri suddenly want to transfer to Barca, Arsenal also cannot say that Barca poached him, because his contract his running out, and maybe he prefer to play in Spain. They would simply have to swallow and accept it.
*
I think that you don't really understand what poaching means.
Poaching is when a club(A) wants to sign a player from club B.
By right, club A should contact club B on his availability first and if they are fine with it, an offer is made club A.
BUt poaching style is when club A contact the player from club B directly, behind his club(B) knowing it.

In your Nasri case, if his contract is running out, he is free to talk to other clubs when there is ONE year remaining left.
Or he is free to talk to other clubs if Arsenal wants to let him go at any given time.

Secondly, of course, is again, Barca can invite kids from all over the world to stay in La Masia. Arsenal can only recruit under-16s within 90 minute travel time of their training ground. Had this not been the case, they would probably copy La Masia a lot more and start recruiting kids when they are 10, 11 or 12. So Barca has the advantage of getting a hold of vastly more youth prospects and imbibing a sense of loyalty.

*
No wonder they only sign foreign players that are over 16.
That explains it.
It's quite a good rule but not enough IMO to stop English teams from buying imports all the time
until there are no spaces left for the ENglish kids

You are missing some points here too, Arsenal approached 2 barca youth players Jon Toral and Sergi Samper.

Sergi Samper chose to stay after listening to what Barca promised and offered him for the future, Jon Toral chose to leave because he think Arsenal is more suitable for his future, so here you cannot blame Arsenal, Barca could have persuaded Toral to stay.
*
Im not blaming anybody.
The kid sees a better future at Arsenal.
If I was in his shoes, I would take up the offer too.
I mean, c'mon, one of the biggest club in the world, with a top 3 coach(imo) wants you and offers you multiple times more money and promises you that you will be promoted in 2012, I would take it in a heart beat! F**k all that mes que un club shit, i only look for my future. Right? smile.gif

Minority, yes, we can offer him a pro contract when he hits 18yo but he still wouldnt have much of a chance being promoted in the first team.
There is a long list of players who are ahead of him in the Barca B and then there are still a few world cup winners in the 1st team.
Obviously, he made a wise decision.

Put yourself in his shoes,
would you listen to Arsenal's promises or Barca's?
Well you know my answer already.. smile.gif

The only thing that I don't like is, when EPL clubs use these kinds of tactics to lure under 18 kids from the Continent to play for them.
Im partly from Holland. A lot of kids left home for England. Why?
Money and fame.
A good example is an ex team mate of mine who went to West Brom before establishing himself in the Dutch league.
Where is he now? In the stands.
ENglish FA gotta stop letting foreign business men take over the clubs!!
And English clubs need to stop over pricing their players!
Andy Carroll the most expensive in England? Are you kidding me?!

great match even without several regular starter, Keita just shown that we no need to worry if Xavi not around, Pedro goal was superb
*
Erm...why is that?
Keita didn't take up Xavi's role. He played his usual box to box game.
Worked his ass off today. And nice assist but I think it was a bit offside as with Villa's goal.
Iniesta did to some extent which ruined his usual game.
I really dont like it when Iniesta has to take Xavi's role.
It just doesnt work.
Iniesta is Iniesta. He loves to take risks and make runs.
When Iniesta plays like Xavi we really miss out a lot on that
and coupled with the absence of Alves bombing down the right, we really suffer.

Loved the introduction of Affelay and Montoya.
Affelay made good use of his limited minutes!

What pissed me off was when Pep casually asked Messi if he wanted to be substituted.
What the hell??!! You are the coach. Its your decision.
The next time Messi get's hacked and gets injured, the blame is on you!

Did alves really wants to leave? rclxub.gif
That will be a major loss for barca. cry.gif

No he doesnt want to leave.
but he just wants more money.
There is a 1 million gap between his demands and Barca's offer.
I just think it's plain silly.
He is worth every cent of that extra 1million.
Barca wants to categorize him as as a defender so his pay should be in a defenders bracket.
But that is absurd.
He made more passes in the opposition half than C.Ronaldo!
That alone tells you how important he is.
Priceless

ANd it doesnt help that Man City offered him a hell lot more Arab money.
Hopefully he wont take the Yaya route

Can you access myp2p.eu ??

btw, we grind a win out today.
Mascherano was, as always, almost useless, esp offensively. Adriano keeps throwing chances away, but he atoned with a nice assist.
los che deserved a point for their effort tho. All in all, good win and 10 points lead. thats a reason to smile.

If you guys watched the match, is there something on btw villa and messi? They sorta like had some sorta spat. Even when villa was right next to messi, opened, messi saw him but still opted to go alone.
well..I surely hope not. King pep wouldn't allow that i guess.
*
good God.
please download the match and watch it again.please.
Masch was terrific. he was stealing balls after balls.
dont tell me you didnt see that?
we really needed both Masch and Busi in the line-up tonight.
as you noticed, Valencia's tactics were to pressure us like mad in the first part of the match so we needed 2 strong DM's to with hold the attacks.
like commentator said, "how long can Valencia hold on to this tactic before they get tired".
so in the 2nd half, out goes Masch cause we needed to attack after Pep sees that they dont have it in them(Valencia) anymore.
so after weathering the storm, in comes Pedro to create havoc and run up against the tired legs.

and how can you say that adriano was useless? throwing chances away?
he created a lot of danger on the left flank. he was alves of the left flank today.
attacking and defending non stop.
you need to appreciate our players more.

no, i dont think that there is anything wrong between the two of them(messi and villa).
although he could have easily given villa two tap-ins but messi wanted to fool the goal keeper by going himself.
and you know, most of messi's goals are potential contenders for goal of the years.
he probably just wanted to add another one.
it wouldve been a beauty, the chip over the goal keeper. but it was too close to the goal unfortunately.
giving the ball hardly enough space to drop.

but yeah, it couldve costed us the match if he didnt make up for it later on.

so you think that Masch was as always useless....
name me 5 players who were able to come to Barca and slot in almost naturally.
Alves is probably the best.
you know, playing at DM for Barca is very demanding.
since we play very high up the pitch, we need someone like Busi or Masch to stop the counters, not some big guy with flying tackles who just tackles and shoots the ball away.
and besides that, the person must be able to pass the ball well.
dont think that because he came from an EPL team that he doesn't know how to pass.
he is above average. watch argentina matches.
man....he gave so many good performances since he came in.
i find it really disturbing that you call him useless.
he couldve easily be a starter for our club if it wasnt for the best DM, Busi.

btw, you said especially offensively..
what is his position again??
right......

Haha no la. I just really don't agree with your criticism towards Masch.
My bad for going very far to defend Masch.
BUt Pep knows that his qualities is not going forward but its to stay back and defend.
Maybe it was Pep's instructions. To keep him at the back. Protect the defenders when the rest are all out attacking.
Cmon. didn't you notice how easy he robs the balls off people?
Busi uses his game reading abilities while Masch just uses brute force(not EPL tackle force) like a gangster while Busi is like a pick pocketer.
Like you said, even Pique goes forward more..That is instructed by Pep as well because Pique is good in attacking. We could use his big body up there. There are many times when he goes forward but nobody passes the ball to him. It pisses me off. Make use of his height while he is there.
But usually Xavi will just keep the ball and control play.
If Masch joins the attack, who's going to look after the defense?

As for Adriano, his role was LM. Provide balls to the attackers and help out the defenders. He did that. And he attacks defenders(valencia) unlike Maxwell who is always shy to join the attack. We need some speed on the left as well.
And Adriano fights for the ball. Maxwell usually just jogs back for some reason and he jsut looks disinterested.

Great news for us.
Puyol is back in training.

Nope.
He will attend the match. <Mad men.
Im sure Tito will be able to handle one match.
Hopefully he wont make it worse and miss the match against Arsenal instead.

I found that quite disturbing to see Messi scolding Villa.
We hardly ever see that here.
And what made it worse was,
before that incident, Messi ignored an open Villa twice who couldve already had 2 tap in goals.
Kinda disappointing coming from MEssi.

I want Iniesta, Busi and Messi to rest tonight.

But i saw an upside, mascherano took a big step today, winning balls back and even putting a shot on goal which was parried away by doblas. tho i hope he's not the best makeshift defence pep can come up with for the gunners game.
*
I came in here asap to check whether you have anything to say about Masch.Haha.
I was grinning throughout the whole match.
And your name came to mind when he unleashed a shot. hahahaha
He did nothing wrong. Absolutely amazing.
Nobody ever passed him ever! Haha.
And his passing is getting better too.
He's a quick learner. He was already an average passer but now he's more aware of his surroundings.
One thing I don't like is that sometimes he tries to be a Xavi when Xavi is right next to him.
I know it's good that he can do it too but I jsut prefer the master do it.

QUOTE(matyrze @ Mar 6 2011, 09:26 AM)
Well, I don't call that 'scolding'. Alves was the one who scolded Villa. If you watch the game again, the incident occurred after Villa failed to find Alves, who was absolutely free at the far post, and opted to take a shot instead, which of course had missed the target. You know, this kinda situation occurs. Xavi said he sometimes tells Puyol and Alves his opinion on the pitch. But for Messi, things get exaggerated because the TV focused on Villa and Messi during the game, and ignored Alves' scream before that.

Btw, I missed the Zaragoza match tongue.gif Sigh, another match to download it seems blush.gif
*
Villa looked like he was trying to hit Messi wit a hard shot ala Rivaldo where Messi just has to run into the ball.
I personally wouldn't have passed to Alves.
Now just a humor,
Alves will receive the ball and instead of shooting he will do his usual thing, look for Messi.

There is no need to download the match.
Pretty boring.
Zaragoza came to get a draw and after going a goal down they decided to keep it at 1-0.
It was a bore.
To make matters worse the players kept on trying one-two's when there is a line of 5-4 in the middle.
I dont understand why they didnt draw the defenders to either side of the pitch.
Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that one out smile.gif

Because Zaragoza defenders also realized that they had to crowd the middle area? If they were opened up in defense, they were doomed, and for them that's not rocket science either.
According to TB, its nearly confirmed that Puyol will miss the match doh.gif doh.gif

So the next match will be very similar to last season; Arsenal with injury problems, vs Barca with heavily make shifted back line.

So who should play in defense? Milito or Busquets?
*
Considering that Walcott will be out= less threat on the left so I would choose Adriano who could exploit the freedom.
BUt we all know Pep, he will play Maxwell there and Busi at CB.
Last season Milito was still a rock at CB, this season he's just off. However he isn't as bad as people make him out to be.
He was good against Zaragoza. Pique was beaten a few times too.
But we can't have two slow defenders.
So Busi it is in CB even though it will disturb our passing.
If only Yaya was still here chasing silverware instead of cash money...

If Pep was smart enough, he would've given FOntas some action time during the course of the season but...stubborn stubborn.
Not playing Busi at midfield does hurt us a bit. He is really important.
It wouldnt be Xaviniesta without Busi behind the duo.

With Bsui-Xaviniesta midfield, the midfield battle is already won but Im pretty confident that Mascherano would do a good job.
He knows them well from his time at EPL.
And his passing has improved by leaps and bounds.

Haha. No la...
Actually its not that crazy when watching football.
Probably the least craziest if you think about it haha

I would love Mascherano to play at CB.
Im sure he would do well but for some reason Pep has never given him the chance to play there.
I wouldve played him there instead of Busi in the past.

That rat Wenger with his games.
Now RVP is in.

Wilshere was supposedly injured too but hey, he's back.

And the Brit Press are at it again.
Twisting Pep's words into something nasty.
All he said was good things about Wilshere.

Yes I called him a rat.

Don't you think that he is being really sneaky?
I do like him though for over 1o years now cause Im an Ajax man too so I follow Bergkamp.
Ever since he transformed Arsenal in 97 or 98 I wished that he would take over Barca one day and that wish never changed but he needs to stop with his acting.
For the rest, he is a top top manager.
Hope Pep can stay as long at Barca and control Barca as much as Wenger.

Bro. Like I said, Ive been following Arsenal since he came on board.
I think the season where the away jersey was dark blue.
They were quite popular in Holland back then.

Anyways,
don't tell me that you don't know that he always claims not to have seen a tackle made by his player.
he ALWAYS turns a blind eye.
bergkamp stamped on a player and he says it was a nervous reaction.
it is funny but its also a serious lie..
a dangerous tackle on an opponent and he says, i ziznt zee zat.

but still, i would love for him to take over barca one day.
but he was so close to joining R.madrid on a few occasions so he is probably closer to madrid than to barca.

dont argue la .. to me Arsenal is nothing near Barcelona..
They are just copy cat who want to play like Barcelona but try to copy but oftenly cant win things.. they are a team make up by cat n rats

no contest at all tonight.. arsenal will be embarrass again

no.
ive been a fan of barca since 1995-96 season ever since i moved to holland.
and i started following arsenal when wenger and bergkamp started there.
i can say, wenger has adopted that approach ever since he started out there.
but it is better now.
before it used to be less beautiful and more psychical with the likes of t.adams, winterburn, keown.
they had a lot of core players. whereas now, its just beauty.

he always had that short passing idea.
and it is not the same with ours.
so yeah, they are not a barca copy cat

i have a strong feeling yukieliow = tevez32

by the way, there is no need to have personal attack or name - calling.
i acknowledge barca as one of the clubs with prestige and integrity.
good game, later. smile.gif

thanks.

i was just pissed to wake up and see that once again he is pulling another of his stunts.
a few weeks back, cesc couldnt play with spain cos of an injury and a few days later he is up and running with arsenal.
