yeah i cant figure out what would the macbook white be like if they upgrade it. now with this new MBA and the MBP, i think there's no gap between the models. any customer should be happy with the choices

How much is the latest pricing in MYR ?

all prices are here: http://store.apple.com/my/browse/home/shop...?mco=OTY2ODExMA

QUOTE(intothefantasy @ Jul 22 2011, 05:10 AM)
hmm for the 15inch is quite out of the question since is not in my budget but then the differences between the 13inch i5 and i7 is 1k+ which is still in my budget which is why i am not sure whether to take the i5 or i7 on the 13inch...as for gaming..yea a better gc is always recommended but then they both are using the same intel HD 3000 so i think is out of the question for performance in terms of gaming...just only wanted to know for basic usage and ios programming...which processor would be better
*
obviously the i7 is better, but for ur usage i think u dont *need* it. if u feel the hard drive is not enough, can easily upgrade to a 500gb for just about rm200.

consider spending the rm900 difference on applecare instead

guys..would it worth to change MBP 13" (2010) to MBA 11" (2011)? still have 4mths warranty

really undecided now; and I would miss the most is the SD card slot since I only use the MBP for xfering from DSLR; I have another 17" laptop & PC for gaming/heavy workload

hmmpp..couldnt find a review to compare this two models yet
*
talking about performance difference, it's worth it. can always buy card reader tongue.gif

guys, yesterday i bought a macbook pro, and today, i noticed that the screen is not align with the body, so i was wondering, if i should change it or something.

there is no loose parts though, and the screen opens and close well, just a slight misalignment. hmm.gif
*

Im considering buying my first Mac.Can anyone guide me on which one is better for me.a 13inch MBP or 13inch MBA.
Im an engineering student. Sometimes i have to run some software for my project mainly on transmission line simulation.
But most of the time its for browsing internet and typing my assignments.
*
for 13" MBA, u should only consider the high end rm5k model. you will still need bootcamp and i think 128gb wont be enough for that.

i dont know about you but an external display + keyboard + mouse makes me much more productive when doing my work (im an engineering student too). better posture too. probably wanna factor those in smile.gif dont forget a miniDP adapter. if you get the low end MBP 13" instead of the high end MBA 13", u have extra rm1.3k...can easily afford those stuff i mentioned

Thank you all so much for the promt reply.

Hmm... yeah with the money i can easily upgrade to 7200RPM 500GB HDD
and 8GB RAM in future.

I plan to get ACPP after around 6 months usage.

btw, the MBP 13 i5 will be more than sufficient to run OSX Lion right?

Thanks in advance ^^
*
i vote for i5 as well. if me, i'll get with ACPP straightaway (rm4598) cuz acpp doesnt get cheaper with time haha. HDD and RAM just get it when u need it later since they keep on getting cheaper

OR, mbp13 i5 + 128gb SSD? rm4462

QUOTE(-Max91- @ Aug 2 2011, 08:43 AM)
Erm where can I download the software tere?? Then after I've changed its format will it delete all my files in the HDD?
*
aiyo learn to google bro. u have two options:

- install ntfs-3g. directly use ur ext hdd no need to format. wont disturb ur files
- format ur hdd and lose ur files. no need to install ntfs-3g

choose smile.gif juz some info, ntfs-3g transfer speed is pretty slow. get paragon ntfs or tuxera ntfs if u cant stand the speed. not free though

For new external HDD, which format should be best and use when reformatting new HDD in order to able to use between Mac OS and Windows ??
*
FAT32. the only limitation is it cannot hold a single file larger than 4gb

another way is to format as NTFS, then install NTFS-3G on ur mac

QUOTE(olivur @ Aug 3 2011, 10:15 PM)
just curious, how are people at machines these days? i kinda dislike the ones working in sunway.

for instance, when the iphone 4 first came out it caught wind pretty quick that there were reception issues.

given that fact, i went to machines to inquire about the availability of the 3gs since i had broken mine.

"why go for older model? the iphone 4 is newer and better, what reception issue? never heard of it"

which is why i usually send my stuff to vr tech.
*
well about machines.... just go read this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1392863

but it's true i guess... among the people i meet everyday, no one seem to be complaining about that reception issue. only read about it on websites

bry7 - i guess so, but then again as a salesperson you're supposed to not just brown nose your customers but have some knowledge of the product you're selling. admitting to an issue and coming up with some bullshit "it's been fixed" even would be better tongue.gif imo.

dvlzplayground - i dont feel like going into details but trust me when i say if it were you, you would've prolly shoved the iphone 4 he was holding up his nostrils too tongue.gif
*
hahaahha. well bry7 is right though. try pretending to know nothing about apple and apply for a part-time job there. im pretty sure u'll get it anyway

my mbp quite weird these days..

like now..my battery shows 74% and the time remaining is 1:42.....

Isnt it suppose to be 7 hrs or so??

Omggg @@
(n now it jump to 2 hrs...)
*
it highly depends on what you're doing. watching movies, having a lot of browser tabs open, playing games...these stuff eat battery fast. dont forget screen brightness, bluetooth, USB devices and so on

maybe this can help you: http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html

and more (a lot more!) info here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/176422...hreadID=1764220

I though macbook can only read disk on NTFS and cannot write on it? Is it true?

Also you format the disk using a PC? as in mac during the reformatting of disk, i cant find NTFS on the selection.

If there's no problem, i think ill change the FAT part of disk to NTFS as well as i heard it is not Suitable for big size of files.

Please advice.
*
i dont think partitioning the disk will give any troubles. as long as the volume is HFS then ok dy

10mins to sync is not abmormal i guess. depends on how much stuff to sync of course. i dont think u have any problem there.

u need to have ntfs-3g (or the alternatives) in order to format to NTFS. without it, OSX cannot format to NTFS

kenyin, he didnt meant to insult u or anything. a 'no brainer question' simply means a kind of question that ppl sometimes didnt bother to ask because the answer is obvious (meaning olivur assumed u've done the smart thing and tried on a different computer), but nonetheless an important question as well.

chill bro. we're all helping out each other here. no one is saying u dun have brain

hmm need an answer to this question pls, i went to switch today and look out for the new mba 2011..as i was there i tried to check about this mac and found out that the air 13inch and 11inch both are running with ram speed 1067 instead of 1333? and i went to check on the pros for both model 13 and 15 found out their are at 1333..so my question is..i saw the spec for mba 2011 ram stated 1333 speed?
*
yeah probably those are the older models. check the processor... new ones are i5 or i7, older ones are core 2 duo
